View Full Version : clubs in Leeds and Southampton
Hi
I am trying to decide which university I spend a year at in the autumn of 2007 and I might as well find a city where I can also play canoepolo. Are there any clubs around Leeds or Southampton? I know they have university clubs but I heard that these are not playing at the same level as clubs outside universities.
Other universities I am considering are Bristol, Durham and Nottingham. Unfortunately my uni has no exchange programmes with universities in Liverpool or London.

Yeah White Rose is a good club, with a good variety of ability. There's always space for new people.
We currently have 4 teams in the national leagues. 1 in Div 2, 2 in Div 3 and 1 in Div 2 Ladies. We also have two teams in a regional division 1 league.
As far as the uni goes, it's got a great canoe club and they have a couple of polo teams too, but yes, it's at a very different level to White Rose.

Further, both Uni's have teams that also compete at the anual BUSA competition... I am not sure about their level of play but I think Southampton is a bit better then Leeds and they are both around the middle of the table or a bit lower down...
Hope this helps...

Hey, Pennine is located In Dewsbury which is around 20 minutes from leeds. We have two teams in national division two (one of them possibly in div one next year) and regional division one. We cater for intermediate/advanced paddlers so you could feel free to come over (If you choose Leeds Uni) and see if you like the sessions.
Hope this helps
