Hi,
I to started off with my school team 9 years ago(wasn't a girls team as I'm not a girl, but we did have girls on the team) I'm still playing but for another team we started off in div 4 and made our way upto Div 1 in Scotland.
What you really need to do is either find another club that is local to you so that you can continue when you leave school and hope that they play polo. There are loads of clubs around and I'm sure they are always looking for new members.
Best thing is to find a club that will let you use club gear for a while then you can buy bits and pieces as you go, so you don't have to splash out all at once(as this can be very expensive)
Try contacting the British Canoe Union for a list of clubs around.

Where is it you paddle?

:welcome:

Hi,
I know Greenstar, have played against them in the British Leagues.
I'm honestly not sure what to do if you can't make their practise sessions, the only other option is to keep training with your school for now untill you can drive.

Try to get your school involved, do they have a minibus? Talk to Greenstar see if they would be willing to start training an all girls team and try to get your whole team along to a session.
I know when I was younger it was hard to get to sessions but I had great support from my club, the school club would take us to training sessions, when I left school the other club members gave me lifts and now I am doing the same for other members.

Schools up here really try to get involved if you are going to be representing them at events.
It all depends how much interest the other girls have.

Feel free to drop me an email if you want

I will try and give you all the advise that I can

I used to do slalom, gave up when I got to Div 2, much prefer the team sports. Not sure exactly where some slaloms are but my club organises a div 2,3,4 at Fairnilee just outside Galashies in the borders. It's a good alround competition with some good water for beginners. It isn't that far away from Doncaster.

There should be some details on my website
www.wlcc.ds4a.com hasn't been updated for a while though but there is info on our Slalom. :bunny:
