Hi Matey,
Well, you lucky lucky person. Hope the job, et al is going alright.
We are a team in the North East & Scotland and when we train you are certainly most welcome to join in and perhaps there will be an opportunity for competitions to??????
At present, however, we have no pool and since the local councils seem to be fixated with a current policy of shortening pool lengths to introduce childrens' areas I don't forsee much chance of getting one in the short term.
Generally, now it's starting to get warmer again, we will meet at a local flat stretch of river (R.Wansbeck near Ashington), or if there's surf, we will choose this option instead and head down to Tynemouth or Blyth beach. This is likely to be at weekends at the moment (due to work getting in the way :( ) or when it gets lighter, it will most likely be Wednesday evenings (unless Newcastle are on telly and the pubs are open!).
In the area there are ourselves (Selkirk Toon) playing in Division II North, Tynemouth (Division III North) and a University team. There may a few others still kicking around such as Tyne Valley or a Cumbrian team, but having lived away for 12 years until recently I am a little unsure. The likelihood at the moment is that we could well be in Div III North next year, Tynemouth are definately losing a 2/3 players who are retiring (so may well be looking) and as for the others, ??????????
You are, therefore, going to be most welcome!!!!!
Cheers
Ivan
