View Full Version : Ladies Squad Session
Hi can anyone confirm for definite that the next session in Belfast is on 20th & 21st. As far as i remember the pool was booked for 13th & 14th in Jan but an email has been sent round re 20th & 21st and no one has access to the Ladies board to check for definite and confirm that its not a mistake. Can someone also post up the Feb date.
Cheers

We were told at the first session that it was the 20th/21st.
A few of us students mightn't make it...Exams :( Whoever thought of exams on a Saturday!! Grrrr
Karyn
I don't have access to the ladies board but 20th and 21st are the correct dates and haven't been changed anytime recently!
the 13th/14th was originally a Munster League date but this was moved forward to this weekend (6th).... maybe that's what you're confusing it with...?
I have 10th and 11th marked in as the Feb dates on one calendar.... not sure if that ones changed tho.....it probably hasn't tho..!

Is that Feb date open to everybody. If not when is the session on in Belfast that follows on from the two Saturday sessions that were held at WWKC.
Cheers,
Anne
Only two ladies weekends booked in Belfast, 20/21 of JAN and 10/11 of FEB.
I wasn't at the WWKC days so have no idea how many "open" sessions are left but if you were told in Wild Water that there would be open sessions in Belfast then these are they!! (the Jan one at least.....)

Don't ye not have your own private forum for discussing this?

If you read the thread that's the quite obvious reason they discussin it here...

They all have access since last week as Sparky forwarded on the members names to me :)

there is a "ladies Squad" forum.
these sessions are open, therefore i will discuse what i want to discuss that is polo related here. and if you dont like it "Mr. Who?" then you can bite the back.........
Who 2?
12-01-2007, 12:32 PM
Who says Mr. Who? is a man? Mr. Who could be a woman, or even a medical professional, therefore the person is Dr. Who..............weird...
missy
12-01-2007, 01:11 PM
because only a MAN (a non-medical profesional man) or ruth could be this padantic and anal, i suggest perhaps getting a life, though finding a way to get your head out of your own ass might be some thing worth trying first.
good luck with that :wavey:
Don't ye not have your own private forum for discussing this?
Pedantic anal Ruth here :wavey: (I'll control my urge to correct the overuse of negatives in that question :p )
It's one thread, related to polo in Ireland, specific to the ladies in the country but not exclusive to the previous squad members. If the general public aren't able to see notices about "open" sessions, how pretell are we to develop new squad members.
All squad discussions will be moved to the private form once a squad is picked! Until then I'm afraid you will have to put up with the inconvenience this one thread causes you! :silly:

Heading from Dublin. Come off the M1 at the junction marked Balmoral/outer ring. At the bottom of the slip road take the third exit off the roundabout (signposted outer ring I think.) Head straight on through the lights, through a crossroads and at the next crossroads, take a left. At the next lights take a right. Head straight, go straight through the next roundabout and you'll find the PEC carpark along there on the left after a set of lights.
There is plenty of room for those folk staying on Saturday night.
See ya Saturday,
D

Sorry if i'm asking an obvious question. But when you say open to all.. would it be appropriate for novices to come along? Just wanted to make sure, haven't heard of one of these open sessions before so not sure of the format.
thanks.

"David Beckham is so fit he can complete the entire bleep test and still look fresh - not many people can do that!" quote I got today off a bbc site- 23 levels....so any girl (superwoman?) willing to challenge mr beckham???!! pauline??!!
Pedantic anal Ruth here :wavey:
... how pretell are ...
Pedantic, maybe, correct, no.
Sorry, it had to be pointed out.
Mike. :)

Supposedly Lance Armstrong can complete it too. I'm happy enough with getting through about half of it!
How about you give it a go next time Delly? :D

Beep test geared towards sports like football, oh and canoe polo. :D Short fast bursts of varied intensity. Level 13 would get you in the royal marines, Level 10 would be standard fit person. Level 8 is the foundation level.
Have a copy for those would wish to try. Cork cup, winner gets Pint????
Pedantic, maybe, correct, no.
(“Pray tell” in that case…? ) :stupid:
I don’t really think I’m anal or pedantic. I will also openly admit my grasp of the English language leaves a lot to be desired and my spelling sucks ass! I only replied because Yvo brought me into it for no particular reason and I felt obliged to stick my nose in and make light of HER choice of words.
Hmm.... can't see me making the marines any time soon, and who would want to be standard anyway.... :waah:
missy
23-01-2007, 01:32 PM
I agree with ruth. "standard" is no place anyone should aspire to be, below or above make you a much more rounded athlete.
---below standard you have focus goals the desire to achieve higher things.
---above standard you know you are god, and you work hard to stay GOD like
---standard ppl have no motivation :p
As for the beep test, I have to say I am against this form of tesing. I spent 8 yrs in primary education, 6 yrs in seconday education and 5 yrs in third level education and have various letters after the old name. And let me tell you something, I did not achieve all that through hard work and study. I achieved it by being cunning, scheeming, selective studying and even the odd bit of cheating and i wont say how i got the degree but i'm sure ye can all put 2 and 2 together (or is that two different numbers hmmmm). ANYWAY my point is. i have spent the past hr on this amazing worldwideweb and i cannot find a way to cheat the beep test :(
so i am againt it as it discriminates against ppl like me :( :( :(
can anyone tell me how to cheat, cos i am no david beckham

Sure seeing as it's our second language we're not doing too bad :)

I'm too happy in my unhealthy lifestyle to contemplate what it would take to make 23 levels....or what you'd even look like to be that fit!
Maybe david beckham was actually Dorothy Beckham but with all the training (and testosterone injections!) the only feminine feature that was left was a high voice??!!!
So my conclusion is we're better off just below half way :D

maybe ther is some form of undetectable steroid that is absorbed transdermally through his tatoo ink........
hmmmmm maybe i could put my chemical and pharmaceutical experience to good use, any one intertested in being a lab rat for me :D :D
agus MaistirG, go maire tu, ta do geailge go ha-an mhaith. :wavey:
Missy, your in luck! according to the Bleep test rules you only have to get one line in 3 (they word it "miss three in a row and you're out" but anyone with a bit of sense will read it my way ;) ) So...... Stand at the start line and wait for the beep, leg it to the far end and make the far line in time for the 2nd beep! You can now "sit out" the next two lengths of the pitch, wait for the group to return to the end you're at and on the beep, leg it to the far end again!!
By cutting out the turn and taking 2/3rds of the time resting instead of running I'm sure we can all make level 23 while still looking fresh as a daisy
(What do you think Sparky? Worthy enough answer to win me Mindtrap :p )

I have to say that I am now also against this form of testing since my Doctor informed me that I've pulled ligaments in my foot, explaining my great difficulty in walking for the last three days. :( Now I get to play with lots of painkillers and anit-inflammatories... Pretty coloured tablets...:D
missy
24-01-2007, 11:21 AM
clare surely now you are "for" this way of testing.
you will now feel no pain in the beep test and the anti-inflammatorys will counteract the effect that the bleep test has on you mucels and body in general, this will mean you can run for longer :D
perhaps dont take the shiney pills now and save some for the rest of us for febuary :D

I hope he not giving you ibrufon-y stuff, All banned these days. :D
As for the Beep test and the line, well rule is actually 3 strikes - out. Sorry. I did think of the every third one myself when doing the course on it.
There is a way to cheat, if only a little bit.... No! I shall keep it for myself.
Never liked the beep test, too destructive.

24-01-2007, 05:33 PM
Ibrufon -v- Ibuprofen?
I did think of the every third one myself when doing the course on it.
You did a course in the Bleep test??? Do you get extra letters after your name for that one? :D .
and it's easy to miss a line when you're trying to settle into the new pace so I'm sure it's judged three in a row as long as the earlier misses are within reason....
niall
24-01-2007, 10:16 PM
Nope, 3 strikes and out.
Your allowed to get to line earlier and wait to head back
