Hi,

If I am not mistaken, there is a new line of Vampires out (2006?). Wanted to ask if there has been any players who have paddled these boats and what thier opinions are. Are these boats as durable as the 2001's? What is the difference or similarities? How does it compare with other models...revenge, mega, galasport, etc.

Cheers,

My son paddled one at the kayak polo nationals in Fort Collins last year. He has a 2006S.

They are just as durable as the 2001, made of the same materials. The corners of the cockpit got cut down a bit so it's a bit slimmer than the 2001, also the tail has a concave section cut out for improved tail controle and I'm pretty sure some updates were made to the nose aswell. the volume that was taken away from the tail (and possibly the nose) was added to around the cockpit. they are a great boat! have a look at www.kayaksplus.com (http://www.kayaksplus.com). That is the company that make the Vampires and is owned by Duncan. I think the 2006 is slightly less volume than the 2001 but don't quote me on that, and because it is slimmer and had a redesigned hull i'm pretty sure it's meant to be a bit faster and have better nose and tail controle. Yeah have a look at trhe site! :) .
Vampire = Best boat out!!

I agree, you'll get lots of arguments, but I reckon for a 60-70kg player the 2006s is the best boat around. I've not seen a better boat, although I wonder if a touch less volume in the nose might not be an even better improvement.
