Great News !
The website construction has begun and there should be some generic information available soon.
The URL is http://2008worlds.ca/
We plan to have more specific information by the New Year.
Some of the features we plan to include are a Virtual Tour of the Lister Hall facilities and the Hawrelak Park venue.
We also plan to start a Forum for a more direct contact with the community and its needs.
In the meantime you can see some of the tourist attraction at this website
http://www.virtualtourcanada.ca/
this will give you a flavour of the great city of Edmonton the "City of Champions"

Good day everyone, :wavey:
The website for the next World Championships in Edmonton, Alberta Canada is finally up and running at http://www.2008Worlds.ca/
Have look around, we have mostly generic information available at the moment, but we will add more specific information as it becomes available.
We also have a forum which is accessible from the Worlds website.
There is currently little on the Forum, since we just started it a few day ago, but you are all invited to join and post your questions there.
One thing to start considering now is that we are hosting a "pre-Worlds" competition which may possibly be our Continental Cup this summer July 19 to 22, 2007.
We just got the go-ahead from the City of Edmonton and we are now gearing up to make it a success.
If you are event slightly interested in coming, please let us know.
We plan to have a large fleet of boats available for rent, so you would not have to incur the expense of shipping your boat.
We will also have accomodations available nearby at the University of Alberta, but we need to know the requirements by mid-May in order to retain the block of rooms.
You are all invited to come, compete and enjoy our multitude of festivals going on during the summer in Edmonton.

As the Worlds approach we are including more and more content to our website so that any visitors will be able to better plan their trip.
We will be posting information about local and semi-local events which would be available before the competition.
Please check out the website at www.2008Worlds.ca (http://www.2008worlds.ca/)

Sorry everyone,
the traffic in June exceeded our monthly traffic allocation
and the website went offline.
We are currently upgrading the bandwidth allocation for the website
and it should be back online very soon.
Your patience is appreciated.
