Stratford Leisure Centre is a HORRIBLE place to take photos! It has two different colour sets of lights pointing at the pool; yellow-ish/orange sodium lamps and white ones. One set is flickering or cycling at high frequency (probably 50Hz mains) and the other isn’t. You can’t see it with your eyes but the camera firing at 1/200th or 1/250th of a second can! Depending on where you catch the lights in their cycle some shots come out dark and some come out bright. Also, because there’s a mix of orange and white light and the mix is constantly changing the colours vary all the time. You never get the same white balance twice! Nasty; really, really nasty.
Yes, I know… photographers always moan about the light :p
