The facility is proposed to be located within the Docklands precinct, as part of the new residential and commercial Waterfront City development. Such a Whitewater Park will create many opportunities in the wider community for increased sports and recreation, increased tourism, supporting the local and state economy, as well as environmental benifits. The venue will be the first of its kind to host three dedicated whitewater channels of varying difficulty, as well as showing potential for additional activities such as climbing wall, aerial skiing training site, and full family picnic areas.
