Hi there,
Canoe Polo has been asked to participate in this... a great way to get Canoe Polo in front of a new audience, and of course show Canterbury who is boss :-)
The Clash 2003
Christchurch will host the 2003 event where it is anticipated 30 – 40 codes will participate.
The Christchurch City Council and Sport Canterbury are actively supporting the event and Sport Wellington Region in Partnership with Agenda are once again playing a lead role.
The exact dates for the Clash will be established as soon as the NPC draw is confirmed, (in the mid. August to late September 2003 timeframe) in early December. We are hoping to centralise a lot of the action round QE II park and the Pages Road sports facilities. The success of the inaugural 2002 event, which was developed and implemented in a 6 week timeframe, has created a good foundation for what is planned to become an annual event hosted alternatively by Wellington and Canterbury.
We believe, over time the Clash will evolve into a key sporting occasion, with provincial pride and rivalry to the forefront and an excellent opportunity for each participating code, team and individual to the represent their province in a high profile and competitive environment.
We very much welcome the participation of all sporting codes and look forward to working with you to ensure your involvement is of value to your association, teams and competitors.
Who is interested? Can we get this going in a range of grades: junior, youth, senior, vets, b-grade???
