What's the story with the AGM this year?
Are there any people going forward for positions?
What positions are available?
Where is it going to be held and when?
And when do motions have to be sent in to be included on the agenda?

It went up on Wednesday (this Wednesday, the 27th) after office hours so a lot of people wouldn't have seen it until Thursday! Giving only 2 days for people to get their motions in!

Well 2 days for motions, good idea to stop too many motions. Got to give the committee credit for that :) And Adrians usual unoffical, twice a year mail hasn't gone out either :D

What has the committee come to. :)

Yes we will be holding a regional AGM here in Munster instead. I am starting a breakaway AGM

I would like to add that there were two written notices about the A.G.M. Date posted on the announcers office at the recent Irish Open Competition. I posted the second one myself outside on the Saturday and the other one was already up.

Re ICU Canoe Polo AGM

Official notification of the 2006 ICU Canoe Polo AGM was sent to the ICU office by e-mail on Sept 7th to be included in the Club mailshot the following day, Sept 8th. This mailshot was sent out to every club in the country, the clubs receiving the notification within the specified 21 days of the AGM. I have personally checked that this happened. It is the responsibility of the club secretary to pass on information to club members. The committee followed the rules as set out in the constitution. This is the only notification the committee must supply.

In addition to this, the committee announced the AGM at the Irish Open. There were flyers posted on the portacabin In addition to this, Adrian sent out an e-mail on the Monday following the Irish Open which included information on the AGM.

Amanda, the secretary of the NCPC ,was only replying to a question asked by Mike regarding the AGM. She was not giving official notification of the AGM.

It probably would have been helpful to post an official message on this website so as many people as possible know about it but this didn't happen.

It would be very helpful if people would get their facts straight before they give out about the committee and procedures followed.

I have no doubt that the AGM was called right. Even see now that I am back that it went up on the canoepolo.ie site too. Only I just saw the notice posted here (the only polo site I bother with really).
As for the club snail mail, well we only have monthly meetings so no doubt will hear about it next week. :D

Besides the best motions are in the AOB!

Derek - Feck off and go training or something would ya? This is not even close to stirring ****. It was a good natured comment (look at my smiley's - crayon coloured things next to words) :)

just a quick suggestion:

It gets tedious reading ppl bicker on this site a "canoepolo" site, not a post "hate mail" site.

If you have issues then raise them at the AGM,

if you dont like the way a committee does things then put yourself forward to be on the committee and help change things rather than sitting on the outside complaining.

there are more important things than the day a letter is posted, such as the development of polo in our country!!!!!!!!

reguardless of what has been said already alot of this is ****-stirring, I dread AGM's as they turn into ppls personal rants. At least try to keep a focus as to why we have AGMs and not to just pick at the committe.

Sorry about the rant I dont usually post to these nonscence threads, but it is just getting rediculous, I think everyone will apreciate and respect a bit more civil adult behaviour among the entire canoepolo world.

That was a bit harsh Yvonne. Didn't see any **** stirring. Yes this is a canoe polo site but its a forum. If you can't ask questions and debate the issue then why bother at all.
As for a nonsense thread, I would have probably missed the date for the AGM except for it.

Folks

I would have answered earlier but I had family issues.

The minutes from last year and the constitution are also available for review on canoepolo.ie.

It was a miss that the post was not put up here as well.

Hope to see you all on Saturday.

I people are travelling by Public Transport can they let me know and I will see if we can arrange pickups from the Luas or Liffey Valley.
