For those that were not there for the finals on Sunday, you reallly missed a great match final. Kilcock Canoe Polo Club Division 1 team Demons , after only losing 1 match early on Saturday morning, winning their next 5 games, went on to beat Aberfan A, 7 - 3 in the finals on Sunday afternoon.
Yes, the sun really did shine on the Demons on Sunday as their skill, speed and class made them the Ultimate Winners in Division 1. Aberfan A had the skill but could not match the unbeatable team of Stephen Davenport in goals, the Twin McCormacks, Brian Devlin, Paddy Mooney and Declan ( Norman Phelan) of the Demons.

This has been a great year for Kilcock Canoe Polo Club, winning in Charleroi, the Irish Club Championships in July and now the Irish Open for their Senior Division 1 team
The Club's Motto "stay calm in the face of adversity " says it all.

For those entering the competition next year , word on the grape vine is that the National Committee Competition Organisers will be introducing DNA Testing.

well done

Enough of the smart comments I think the Kilcock lads played well as a Team It’s a pity some of the bigger teams such as FOA and Bear Island did not turn up on the weekend however do not take away from Kilcock victory Well done Lads............ Sean

Would that win have anything to do with the disqualification of the team that did beat them?!?!?!?!?! ....

I wish the Irish Canoe polo communiy would just get on with whats important, developing the sport and encouraging people to play. Well done to the Kilcock team who have put a lot into developing their club and players over the past number of years. It is the largest canoe polo only club in the country and more clubs should take note. If poeple have something to say then they should say it and should post using their name, or are people afraid to say what they have to say. This is the sorry thing about Irish Polo, people are being victimised for their views, not being allowed in the click if they have certain views. This has gone on for far too long and I wish that people just got on with it and played the game without all of the policital crap thats going on

Well done Kilcock and all of the other teams that were placed and not placed in the Irish Open
