To all referees from all institutions.

I foramally offer an apology on behalf of any NUS member who has offended anyone in this forum or at the pool. May i add that anyone who has made any comments do so at their own accord, and i urge you not to let these comments speak on the behalf of our institution in any way.

Personally, i have tried very hard to establish friendly relations with every school. Differences as there may be, i hope all these are put aside during matches and friendlies. Although i may have committed 'Referee-challenging' arguments myself, i do not align these remarks to any institution, more so to the referee himself for a perhaps unfair call from my perspective. We all understand how it feels to be frustrated in a game, and bad decisions are made in this heat of the game. Again, i apologise for them.

On a side note. I do hope that more Offifcial Referee Courses be held, might i recommend it to be a yearly affair. As is obvious from the previous competitions, the number of refs are in severe shortage, often relying on refs who have graduated several generations ago. One course in 2 years is too few and far between. and i think the situation now speaks for itself. Raymond, judging that you are the top authority on this, should you ever need any assistance, do not hesitate to approach me/NUS for help. We will do our best.

All the best to all teams playing this weekend, and again, my sincerest regrets for any potential hostility portrayed.

Matthew.
