I think there are still some errors in the canoepolo rules. Apart from the fact there are certain rules that should be changed in my opinion, there are also contradictions within the rulebook..
For example:
Jostling is illegal when :
34.2 When the contact to the opponents kayak would be defined as a kayak tackle.
There are two ways to explain this:
1. This rule never applies cause tackling does involve trying to gain possesion of the ball, and jostling is when players try to gain a position and are not going for the ball.. So it's either one or the other...
2. It's a kayak tackle when you're moving your kayak against the opponents kayak. So every jostle would be illegal..
My third thought was that they just forgot the word illegal.. so it should be "34.2 ..... defined as a illegal kayak tacke"
But then all jostles without a ball within 3 meters would be illegal because of this rule..
Obviously not well thought trough.
