Hey it's kinda no problem with me.... it's all up to the individuals this time ....cos i've ask around and the reply were mostly negative cos it's a major festive celebration here in singapore and holidays will be on saturday, sunday and monday itself .... which means it's gonna be a holiday from 1st, 2nd and 3rd of february ...... so most probably, we'll send a non chinese team over to play !!! hhaahahahahah.....
Cheers !!!
And see u in december canoe polo game... i'll be coming down to play or maybe watch !!!

Hi all,
I know Japan will be there. Hoya, the team captain, emailed me to ask if Spore is sending a team. Not too sure about the rest. But I can email to ask Taiwan.
Are we? Have not been in touch lately cos real busy with work. Perhaps someone can let all of us know?
Hi all,
What is the weather like in Malaysia in Feb 03 when the championships are on, can anybody tell me.

Hey Tom,
Happy 2003!! :)
How's it going over in the northern hemisphere?
The weather in M'sia around Feb is relatively fine. I'm terming it relative to the UK weather. You can expect occasional showers. Temperature will hover around 28-30degC in the day and maybe 25-28degC at night. The sun will be bearing down in the day and relative humidity (RH) level will hover around 80-90% so you can safely leave your fleece and jackets in your wardrobe as these will be redundant in the tropics. Even wearing long pants will be a bother. Bring a brolly or a water-proof jacket. These may just come in useful though I doubt you'll see much rain.
Boy, do I sound like a weather boy or what???
You've been to S'pore so you probably have a vague idea of what to expect. But given our good friends El Nino and La Nina, we can never be sure if flash floods will pay us a visit in Feb, can we?
If you read up the thread, you'll notice that the Champs are held in the Chinese New Year period. The CNY is a very important period for us Chinese. It marks the start of a new Lunar calendar and CNY day coincides with 1 Feb of the Gregorian one. CNY stretches over 15 days and ends 15 Feb. During this festive occasion, we dress up in our Sunday's best and visit our friends and relatives to convey our well wishes. This coming Asian Champs falls neatly on the 1st wkend of CNY which is traditionally a popular time for visiting. You'll notice from the list given by Song Peng that Taiwan, a Chinese nation, is missing. And I fear this may well be the main reason that's keeping them away. Iran is also missing from the list. It'll definitely not be as exciting with strong competitors like them missing from the coming Champs.
On the flip side, we're seeing two new entries, Cambodia and Thailand, and that definitely is a healthy sign!Hopefully we can see more response from other Asian countries as well and that'll take us one step closer to the Olympics, yeah?
Btw, have you read my thread under General regarding the rules? Think you can pls help? I'm not too sure who else to approach besides you and Carmel.
Thanx! and Cheers!

:karate:
i dont think the organiser can change the date, as all participant have confirm their entries.
:( I'm also not agree with the date...
i think MASCA (Mas Canoe Assct.) already try to change the date.. but Putrajaya Holding (the organiser) still on with the date cause they 'll like to have this event on that date as celebration of Federal Teritory Day which on 1st February.
It's their event..
anyway hope you guy will come, cause many top team in asia will come for the event... take this chance...
so.. see yaa there...

Yo Wizkid, I believe this (http://www.canoeicf.com/news/news/n2002/10/ICFPolo200202.pdf) will answer many of your qns.
Yes, Singapore is sending a team. However, the arrangements have been quite hectic of late and we're looking at how we can sort things out.
To all who are reading this.
This is an absolutely good chance to watch a world class CP competition. The inaugural Asian Champs held in Hong Kong in 2002 was very well organised and proved to be a huge success. And I have all faith in MASCA that the 2nd Asian Champs will be on par, if not better, than the previous one.
A bus ticket to Putrajaya costs only about S$30. So what better chance is there than this to watch such a competition? I'm not too sure who will be holding the next Champs. (The decision of the host country will be made at this coming Champs) But given the trend, chances are it will be in Miyoshi, Japan as a prelude to the World Champs. A air ticket to Miyoshi costs approximately S$800 and that does not include expenses. Not too difficult a problem sum, is that? :p
A few of us are putting a group together to make the trip up north. So if anyone is interested to join us, pls do PM me.
