The reply in the form of a link fron Ze German indicates the BCU rule.
The reference 1-100 is as quoted in the ICF Canoe Polo Rules.
Might be that the BCU knows that we can't count that high :)

Here in Britain we have been telling people they should only get numbers 1-15 for years.
Other than 20, you need more than two hands to indicate the player number to the table officials making 1-99 one of the more stupid ICF rules.
Of course, if every British player only had numbers 1-15 then there would still be no problems in this matter if they then wanted to play at an ICF event !

I recently saw people in Hull with number 0 on there BA. What a refereeing nightmare!!!!! How do you signify that???
