Can everyone who got a parking ticket email me on cameron@polomania.co.nz pls.
Details needed:
Name
Car rego
Fine reference number
Amount
Day of fine
I got a $40 ticket for parking round the back and sounds like plenty of people got a $12 for parking in the main carpark so I want to see what the council has to say about this impossible situation where we have to be there for a full day.
Cheers
I am pretty sure Tom got one for $40 we had the HB vans parked around the back all weekend and hopefully did'nt get a ticket, a little inconsistant.

I got one - sent you my details. My mission is to make sure I irritate enough people at the council for long enough that fining me actually costs them money. Was only a $12 fine so shouldn't be all that difficult.....

Hi cam.
Have you heard anything about these fines? Do we still have to pay them?

I am waiting on the parking department to get back to me. I have had some correspondance with the people about trying to sort out a solution for further comps but they aren't very helpful.
A copy of the email will be on your hotmail

I didn't realise you were coordinating a response Cam. Airini and I got $40 tickets for parking round the back too. I paid mine but enclosed a grumpy note telling them that we'd booked out the venue and that they could've at least warned us since the vehicles with roofracks etc were obviously related. I asked for a reply but assume, since I enclosed a cheque, that they'll ignore my request to remit the fine, throw out the letter and bank the cheque. I'd be interested to know how you get on...

but if the council stubornly hold their ground and force everyone to pay, that'll be $45 all up...a risky endeavour when that $5 means one less beer at the pub while watching the hurricanes beat the waratahs a second time round this friday
I just got my reply back from the council re the ticket Robin got.
I lost they didn't accept it at all.
Their answer was "The notice issued because the vehicle was either parked illegally or was committing some other breach of either the Transport Act, Traffic Regs or Land TRans Act".
As i wasn't there and haven't really bothered asking the kid where he was parked I don't know if he was parked in a No parking zone or what.
Anyway that was the reply i got. Good luck for everyone else

As you can imagine I got the same letter advising that they 'cannot accept your explanation in respect of this matter'.
I will be making a written submission to the court regarding this which can potentially incur more costs. So with that, it is up to individuals if they wish to pay the fine now or follow the same course as I am. While I would urge following the same course of action it is best that you read the pamphlet they send out and make your own decision.
Cheers

Cam - I don't fancy your chances of getting off this - Its not really a defence to say - I parked illegally because it would have been inconvenient for me to park legally.
I appreciate the circumstances - but unless you want to throw your money away I'd pay up.
have just found out that both HB vans got ticketed in Auckland BUGGER not going back to that pool again
