After watching all weekend it's amazing how much we cheat on charge starts so often it was who was in front the most who won.i got to watch these cause i'm not so fast. When we have travelled to oz part of duty is always to supply a line judge at each end they even get a flag an container of balls at each end so they don't have to be chased. Lets do this!

I agree with Dave! Its not hard to organise a basket at each end and have the duty teams man it, there always seemed more than 4 people by the scoreboard

I'd just like to say thanks to those thoughtful people who organised line judges for the women's tournament final.
- Usually our backup person tells the charger how close to the line they are. - So it was good to have someone on the sideline watching this.
Perhaps it needs to be stipulated that duty teams are required to supply:
1 timekeeper
1 scorekeeper
2 x line udges (one at each end) - who collect balls, indicate line starts...
I have to admit that when our team was on duty I completely forgot line judges would be helpful.
It would be great as players if we could try to think how we can help make our tournaments more enjoyable for everyone. I think its easy to forget that key competition organisers such as Comps Director / Chief referee are actually there to play canoe polo as well. - And its not like they get paid to perform their role...

Hey guys,
guess what else we will all have to do at the next comp when weare on duty!!!
thanks dave...love the pro+active thought
I think at the next tournament, the electronic score board should be balanced on two crystal wineglasses that in turn are resting on a swiss ball. I think it adds a certain 'je ne sais quoi' to proceedings when the entire display tumbles to the ground when we least expect, or better yet, squawks at inappropriate moments.
On that note who's idea was it to use the scoreboard as a way of promoting the NZ towels. Which reminds me I better get a quote for fixing it. Was interesting watching the boys play round with it while it was plugged in and with their feet in a puddle of water. Line judges are a definate good call. See you all at Christchurch sitting at the goal line.
