Hans-Henrik, what is your training schedule in May17-21 and gear policies for out of country guests? How difficult is it to get from Kobenhavn to Skovshoved via public transport?

Thanks,
Dmitri

Three clubs are in, or close to, Copenhagen. The two mentioned and Holte in the town of the same name (10 k from Copenhagen) All clubs have standard (read: heavy plastic) equipment for you, but you will most likely be able to borrow private stuff if you know what you are doing:rolleyes: But bringing a spraydeck may make things even easier. Clubdecks are lousy in all three clubs.
Hans-Henrik (above) is playing a turnament this weekend, and won't be able to reply until tuesday. But I can repeat what Sanne says: you are more than welcome in Copenhagen, obviously Skovshoved, but surely also in Holte where they have the best outdoor facilities. Tell us where you are staying and we will tell you where to go the easiest.

And ps. on the saturday there is a poloevent 2 hours drive from Copenhagen. It will most likely be too expensive to go yourself, but it is at a "harbourfestival" in a scenic city, so if you have the time you might wish to go with one of the teams that are attending.

Cheers, Asger, Copenhagen.

Asger,

Thanks for the info. I'm going to a scientific conference and going to be staying somewhere in the center of Copenhagen. My hosts are reserving a hotel for me so I'm not sure where, yet. I will definitely bring my own spraydeck. The conference is over on Saturday and if my schedule permits I would love to go to the tournament with a local team. Just to give you an idea of my level, I'm a (super) sub on the US squad. :D Granted that polo is not very developed in the USA but that's the best description that I can give you of my level.

Hope to see you and play with you guys,

Dmitri

:) We have played against the US several times since 2001, so I am familiar with the level, and since I am a "super-sub" on the danish team myself, we might even play against each other in a few month:D

I will see what I can do regarding the turnament/ gathering on the saturday. It will take a few days to sort out, but I will get back to you with some kind of plan:confused:

Cheers, Asger.

Asger, Hans-Henrik and Sanne, thanks!

Can you guys please give me your phone numbers in Denmark since I'm not sure how much internet use I'll have their? You can send it back chanel to bougakov@gmail.com. I'm going to be getting in next Wednesday in the afternoon.

Thanks again!

I still do not know where I'm staying in Copenhagen

Hej Dmitri.

I assume the conference doesnt take care of any shuttle transport from the airport then... ? Well, you can take the public transport, but then you have to have some danish coints to pay for a ticket in the mashines at the airport (I dont remember if there is any credit card ticket mashine in the airport? Anyone?)

The easiest way to your hotel is then taking the train (leaves every 10 min) (direction: "Copehagen"/"Nivå" (NOT "Malmö")) and get off at "Örestad st." then take the Metro (direction: "Vanlöse st.") and get off at "kongens Nytorv st." Then you have 5 min of walk to the hotel or something. It is not difficult :)

Sorry... You have to replace every letter of "ö" with an "ø". I live in Sweden where they have some "strange" letters...

So: ö=ø; ä=æ in evertything I write.... :bang:

Hi

As you can read above there are a few clubs in the area of Copenhagen. In Holte we have two teams playing at the moment. One team in the top 5 of Denmark and one beginner-team playing in 2nd division.

Depending on your level and experience we can offer some training in our club if you want?

Beginner team train the following days:
Tuesday at 18.30
Saturday at 13.00

Our best team train the following days:
Monday at 18.00
wednesday at 18.45
saturday at 15.00

(We have some equipment you can borrow, not the best but okay)

You can reach me on email: peter@hackt.dk or by phone +45 2340 1818

Regards
Peter Sørensen
