Hi there! I have some queries. Hope you guys can help!

1. Team A awarded corner throw. Before Team A re-starts play with the corner, some Team A players obstruct a Team B player from taking up position as goalkeeper. I detect a foul here but the argument is play has not re-started. Is there a foul or not?

2. Rules 30.4 states 'Placing a paddle within arms reach of an opponent who has the ball in his hand' as Illegal Use of Paddle. It further states 'A goalkeeper is excluded from this rule...' Does it mean a goalkeeper is allowed to bring his paddle within arm's reach of a player? If so, a goalkeeper can knock the ball off an opponent's hand when he's shooting. Am I making sense?

3. When a player is being prevented from taking up position as goalkeeper, is the foul being called for Obstruction or Illegal Kayak Tackle?

4. Rules 43.4 states that 'Play will restart on the whistle'. This refers to taking of a goal penalty shot. There is no stated rule that prevents opponents from tackling the player taking the penalty shot, before his 5 seconds is up. Is there a loophole here? Should the penalty taker be given the full 5 seconds to attempt his shot before others can proceed into that half?

Thanx to those who can help me clear my doubts!!! :)

For number 1, a foul is a foul. Although play has not restarted ,that does not mean that all the paddlers stop. It does not say in the rules that all fouls are allowed during a corner play, does it.

For number 2, read the whole rule. Dont just read and extract certain parts of the rule. You will notice that the answer to your question is in the rest of the rule. Ie dangerous use of the paddle etc...

For number 3, it depends on how the tackle is performed. It could be obstruction or illegal kayak tackle, depending on how the foul occurs. There is no black or white answer due to the vastness of different possibilities. At the end of the day, if it happens it is called. The signal will depend on the situation.

For number 4, again read the all the rules. This person is taking a free shot. A person takiing a free shot can not be tackled, and they have 5 seconds to score a goal, otherwise illegal possession is called. If someone tackles them before they have shot, then again yellow card (deliberate foul) award another 6 m.

Hi! Back with more qns! 1 actually...

1. If an attacker gets fouled upon in the act of shooting, and he scores despite the call being made by the referee, we usually award the goal. However, if a goal penalty shot is awarded in the same scenario, should the goal be allowed? Or should we let the player take the penalty instead?

Thanx!!

Your question is a little confusing but in essence you are asking if the ref has the power to award a goal for the following :-
The ref sees a foul, blows the whistle for the foul, the ball happens to go in the net despite the foul.

No !
This is not rugby.
A New rules does go some way towards allowing a situation to continue and then penalising the illegal play at the next break in play with the use of a Yellow or Red card, but you can't signal for a foul and then just convert it into a goal because it seems fair at the time.
You called the foul and that will be taken. Chances are it'll be a Goal Penalty Shot anyway. If the foul was that serious you could consider issuing a yellow card for the illegal play as well.

If the players can't accept you are calling a foul at the instant it happens - for their benefit, then perhaps they are playing the wrong game.
