Pool Costs

Hello Everyone



With the cold winter months approaching and the dark nights starting at 3pm!! I have been looking in to booking some pool time for our team, and was just wondering what people got for their money around the country. The best pool we can get is a 33m pool and will cost us £85 per hour. What does your team pay and what do you get? If you get a council subsidy could you mention that as well.

I book our local 33m pool for £50/hour it's just gone up from £33/hour. However, I gather this is fairly cheap compared to other pools. In our area it's down to the pool manager to set the rates so it may be worth asking for a reduction. In other pools I've booked, I've also got a discount by having less lifeguards/staff. I've got around this by saying that I have qualified coaches running the sessions, that means that the pool only really need a single member of staff that know the specific safety details, such as fire exits etc..

Your club's getting a raw deal there we pay 57 quid for two hours in a 33m pool at Dewsbury, you should try knock them down a bit.

Danny, what night and time do you use the pool and would you welcome some visitors from the east riding, at the moment we just have a canal to train on in the winter evenings. We do however have a lake and a goal for sunday moring training and are hoping to set up a pitch in the near future.

Hi Matey,

Matlock are charged c.£40 per night for a 1 hour session in a 35x12 metre pool, inclusive of lifeguard.

Could have told you this over the phone like.

£83 would be a tad pricey (especially with my fuel!). Reckon I'll come along when I finally move back North (or when up at weekends).

I believe that Derby (Moorways) is in the region of £55.00 p/hr and Belper to be roughly in the £40 to £50 p/hr mark, making the Midlands current cheapest!
