Hi,
Couple of things 1st out of curiosity, I was wondering how many polo players do use or have used the loch at stirling for training?
And 2nd there has been a lot of use over the summer of the goals and the are in much need of some tlc. My club will be doing the work but as we are the poorest club in Scotland (probably) it would be nice if regular users could chip in a couple of pound for replacing the nets and some paint?
We were also considering putting in floating goal lines to help add some dimension to the playing area, what are regular users thoghts on this?

Hi Keith ,
I have in the past used the loch for training , but when we used the loch there was no goals !!!
All we did on the loch was long paddle out's and ball skills .
It would be nice if the majority of users put in some time or £'s to repair or purchase some lines.
Hope you get help Keith , we at Selkirk have to train on a loch that dosnt have goals or lines and have to train on ball skills and long paddle outs !!!!
If we were a little closer to Stirling we would love to use the loch and chip in on costs of upkeep
As there are now so few good training facilities around it would be a real shame to see this one go without some help from users.

I already mentioned it to your dad, going by this forum it may just be our two clubs paying anyway. Unless I get unindated with people pushing fivers into my hand at the champs!

West Lothian and some others from Linlithgow and Woodmill use the loch too - there are some goal frames around - and we are looking to get them all together to refurb (perviously used at other pools in scotland) - if we get enough together will let you know for use at the loch:thumbup:

Cool, What we are actually planning is to add Goal and sidelines aswell wich will be semi pernament.
We Measured the distance from one goal top the other and found that its just under 38 meters, not as long as I thot. And obviously not much longer than a proper pitch.
Our club have decided that if we are to do this there is little point in half mesures so we plan to mark up the goal lines with half way 6.5m and 4 m lines for both the 38m pitch and a 33m pitch, so that with the addition of floating goals we can have a proper sized semi pernament pitch in scotland! (cool eh?:D )
we are still pricing up all this, I think it will be around the £300 mark.

The season is over so time to get down to some proper training!
Chris R. and myself have been out and took away the two goals at Airthrey for some repair, this has been completed and the goals now look lovely in red and white with some brand new nets.
Also the systm of raising and lowering the goals has been made easier with the addition of some cleats.
We are heading out to hang the last goal tonight. This has all be done with a combination of our clubs money and our own money.
It still would be great if we could get some goal and sidelines but the problem is money im afraid.

Thats great!!!
One problem bout the permanant side line plan, other people use the loch. You probably already know what your on bout but just incase:confused: . Goal lines would work though:)
