Hi Curly,

Last season there was a struggle to find teams to enter National Youth League Div 2.

The only team to enter from South West Britain was Aberfan.

We currently have a Welsh Youth League organised by the WCA, in which ten clubs take part. Having spoken to the coaches in these clubs there are a number who would be intertested in entering the National League but who do not like the idea of travelling to the other side of the country to take part in tournaments with young paddlers.

In Wales we have an ideal venue at Aberdare Pool for which we were charged £33/per hour last season. Unfortunately the fee is under review and for this season is likely to be £50/hour.

I am sure if this pool hosted Div Two Youth tournaments, you could expect at least four Welsh teams to enter and perhaps some of the teams in the Bath/Bristol area.

I appreciate this e.mail may be too late for this season, however having read Claire's entry it appears people are yet again leaving things last minute to enter the league, so there may be some hope.

Regards

Tony Griffiths

Looks like a few £100 fines will be applied? Whilst I am sure the extra revenue will be handy to the sport, it doesn't really make a lot of sense to enter late, and probably makes Claire's job a lot harder.
