Since the initial squad selection in February Aaron and I have been working towards selecting a final team of 8 players to attend the European Championships in September.
During the course of several training weekends and a competition in Essen, Germany, the player’s skills and fitness have been continually tested. Various combinations of players have been tried in order to get the best team possible. We believe that this combination will give the best chance of winning the Gold medal at Madrid The final selection process took place at the Liverpool International on the 11th/12th of June. After much deliberation the final team was announced on the Sunday.
Congratulations to those players who have been selected and commiserations to those who did not make it this time around. It is hoped that all those players will attend next years selection weekend, as all the players selected for the squad showed great potential and have progressed a lot over the past 5 months.
