View Full Version : What's in a Name?

After browsing on the Irish forum pages I noticed that most of the teams there have very unorthodox and colourful names for themselves which I thought was only limited to the Australian, Belgians or the Brits. Or were made up just for a mixed team at an International !
What a big difference these names make compared with staid club team names from Italy, France and Germany and such .:)
So I thought, which team has the wackiest name in World Canoe Polo circuits?
Any offers to better the best and name names? ;)

they even had bibs made up with two chickens f***ing
in the end the BCU made them change it and the team played for a long time as Luton SC

The name of my club in Norwegian is "Strand Kajakklubb". A direct translation of this would be: "Beach Cayak club". Therefore the name of our best mens team is: "Beach Boys", with our own proffessionally made team logo with the name "Beach Boys", with a big shark biting over a few of the letters in the name. cool!!
It very nice actually.
I always thought Thury Harcot translated to 'fairly hardcore'?! Suppose that's still fairly good but it's not in the same ballpark as V-unit which is extremely hardcore by implication.
I'd rather be extremely hardcore than fairly hardcore any day. Who wouldn't?

Are'nt Viking a group of boy scouts? Not exactly likely to strike fear into the hearts of the masses are they?
