Hi Polo People

I find it a little worrying that almost no posts have appeared in the canoepolo forums. Also, no new posts have appeared on the Message board at canoepolo.pd.uwa.edu.au . Is there any reason?

Would be interested to see what people think of the forums.

Stu.

I read the board but there hasn't been anything I wanted to reply to and nothing I've wanted to post (Till now). Maybe thats why they appear quiet at the moment.

The new notice board is a good format though:)

Hi All

Well, I am glad that some people are using the new forums. I realise that they are not a high volume discussion page, but I wasn't sure if people were boycotting them or not.

As you noticed, this version of the boards doesn't use the expanded thread option like the old board, just the way it is.
If you notice in the left margin on the main forums page and within any forum there is a black/yellow button. If it's yellow then there's new messages or replies to an existing message. Easiest way to tell if you've had an answer.
This software is a trial version. In the full version when a user is registered they would get an email notification telling them so and a link to the post. Would people like this option? We should be updating soon.
Please respond here if you think it's a good idea...

It would be a nice option to have emailed replies. Would it also be possible to email messages to a notice board. It could possibly be used to save you having to update the notice board with the DCPL results which are emailed to everyone, instead the notice board could be added to the mailing list and they could be added automatically.

Don't know if this is possible though, just speculating.

I think one of the main problems is that many people are not properly aware of the new forums, and so postings have been split between here and the old message board. After a while this could change - but in the mean time as there are less postings both here and there people are probably less interested, and therefore less inclined to reply. I can't imagine that will remain the case for too long, though...

I have updated the link from http://www.canoepolo.co.uk
