As it unlikey the US will put together a men's team for the CC in Brazil, maybe we should look at other options.
I think there would be a lot more interest for Euro Champs than Brazil, cost, time, quality of competition.
US and Canada can petition the ICF and see if Euros 2005 might do for qualification. Canada may not have to do anything, but I think they may jump on the chance for the experience.
At the minimum the US needs to show up somewhere for any chance for a wildcard assuming that we do not qualify thru the current system.
A petition would really highlight the absurd continental cup lines and show that the US is still serious about polo. This would help even if we are rejected.
And going to Euros would be a great experience even if the US does not qualify. Especially since we talk about European tours.
Spain is our closest Continental Cup. It sure ain't Brazil.
