FWD From Wildwater Racing Committee
Fellow paddlers,
As you will know Ireland will host rounds 3 & 4 of the wild water world cup series on the River Shannon in Co. Limerick on the 21st - 22nd of May of this year. This prestigious event will see the top wild water paddlers from nations across the world come to the village of Castleconnell in what should prove to be a very exciting weekend of sport. This is the first time Ireland has hosted a World Cup in wild water racing and it is a chance to develop the sport of canoeing as well as show our foreign compatriots just what Ireland has to offer.
Preparations for the event are continuing, at present we are seeking volunteers to assist in the logistics of the event on the weekend. There are many tasks to fill, if you are interested in being a part of this exciting event please e-mail me on volunteer2005@eircom.net (volunteer2005@eircom.net) to register your interest. As soon as I have a list on names I will contact you all regarding availability. Volunteers will receive volunteer packs (tshirts and rain jackets to keep)as well as certificates of thanks for their efforts.
With a marathon race on the Shannon on that weekend and with so many paddlers, supporters and locals around, it promises to be an excellent weekend both on and off the water. So be part of the excitement and contact me. This will be a historic event in Irish canoeing, so make sure that you are there!
Many thanks in advance,
