Thanks for the correction lads. The National Club Championships in Ireland is on the same dates in July so I accidentially slipped in the wrong month.

The Irish Open is on the 17th/18th September.

Good to see people are vigilant.

Has anyone worked out the cheapest way to get to Kilcock this year?

Are there any group booking deals we can make with the ferry?

As far as we believe the group ferry discount that the ICU had no longer exists. So unfortunately we can no longer avail of this.

Depending on were you are coming from in the UK would determine the cheaper route.
e.g.
If you are up North of the UK the cheaper route would probably be to go to Stranraer and get the ferry to Belfast. The journey from Belfast is around 2 hours. This road has improved a lot in the last couple of years.

If from the South of England there are ferries from:
Liverpool --> Dublin Port
Holyhead --> Dublin Port/Dun Laoghaire
Pembroke --> Rosslare.

The New M50 section of road from Rosslare/
Wicklow to Dublin has just been opened and you can now move quickly through (unless you hit traffic) to the N4 (the road to Kilcock).

Hope this helps.

I/We will be coming via holyhead. I see on the Irish ferry web page discounts for groups larger than 10..wonder if we coordinate this sufficiently to make use of it?

also if teams have room in cars we could try to optimise the car/people combinations. Do folks thing this is worth while..or too much like hard work for no return?

Hey guys,

I have been in touch with the ICU and they have confirmed that the deal with Irish Ferries is no longer in operation. But that sounds like a good idea, i will get in contact with all the teams i've received entries from and had enquiries from and will try to organise group discounts for teams travelling on same ferries.

Keep the entries coming in!!

Folks

The organiser are actually working on the timetable so this may be available in advance. The final list of teams has just been completed.

So far we have:
7 teams Div 1
16 teams Div 2
18 teams Div 3
8 teams women
6 teams U16

This will make 55 teams and over 300 players coming to Kilcock. With the supporters this makes a formidable assembly of the paddling community.

We will let you have the details in the near future.

Hope to see you all there.
