Hi!
I would like to learn, what firms do polyethylene kayaks for canoepolo.
What now the advanced models. Polythene interests only.
I know only about a pyranha and an eskimo.

I will keep an eye out for photos and descriptions.

Vampire is small, short, heavy, predictable with straight lines, has integrated bumbers and maneuvers well.
Perception is fast, light, soft.., unstable, turns well.

Personally I fancy the Eskimo despite the stupid colouringsystem.. gray with stikkers and the lousy bumbers.

The Acrobat can be found at www.perceptionkayaking.com (http://www.perceptionkayaking.com) under kayaks and specialist range.

There are full specs and a couple of pictures of it there.

The Vampire in plastic and the Cyclone polo kayak are both avaliable on www.kayaksplus.com (http://www.kayaksplus.com) under polo boats

this Boat is used for learning, Student and Youth Teams because of the price and it is nearly impossible to damage a polyethylene Boat.

They are good boats but you should really replace the foot pegs. They fail quite early. And the bumpers really need to be replaced. A couple of hits and the lousy foam tears off, exposing four, composite boat piercing bolts. Now that's engineering.

It's nice to talk about them since you can't seem to buy them. At least no one in North America can. Several clubs from Canada to Texas have been trying to buy these for about 6 months now but have had no luck.

Cheap? At over $1000US this is as expensive as composite kayaks.

We'll need a lot more :twocents: :twocents: :twocents: before we order these. :(

Polythene revenges are also available. They are not the same as real revenges, but I think they are pretty good for plastic boats .

Hi Victor,
You can find good reasonably priced polythene polo kayaks if you look at this Italian site:
http://www.cscanoe.com/. Sandro is the owner of the firm and the quality of his work is outstanding.

Hi Victor :wavey: ,

my company is the european manufacturer of the Vampire kayaks. If you need any closer information about the kayaks just take a look on our homepage
www.kayaks-and-components.com (http://www.kayaks-and-components.com) or ask me. I'm still working on the homepage, that's why some pictures and information are still missing but it will be soon completed.

Since most of the polo boats seem to look exactly like the Fighter, it's a bit hard to say, but could it be that this company isn't producing these under licence ?

It's a very bad thing to promote a manufacturer if they just copy boats.
Does this company have any of it's own design or does it just find it easier to rip them off ?

Hi Clyde,

my company has purchased the exclusive license for europe to produce the Vampire 2001 from the designer of this boat Duncan Cochrane (including the original laminate plan a.s.o.). Duncan has assured us that this company definetly doesnt has the license for the Vampire 2001. So whatever they offer is not the Vampire 2001!!! Just take a look at the pictures on their homepage and you can see that the shape of the kayaks is totaly different to the shape of the real Vampire 2001.

My partner Hendrik Bretzke talked to Mr. Lettmann and he was shocked that only a few weeks after lauching the Blade, this Company offers a boat with the same name (I wouldn't go so far to say the same boat, I have not seen one yet).

In my opinion this is bad for the people who buy those boats and don't know what they buy. And maybe this is bad for research and development in in the polo boat sector too. So I agree to you that it is a very bad thing to promote a manufacturer if they just copy boats.

I hope that sportsmen who want to buy a Blade go to Lettman and buy it there. And of course I hope that people who want the Vampire 2001 come to us.
