The details of the league can be found on www.canoepolo.com (http://www.canoepolo.com/). WWKC have also posted up-to-date results on www.wwkc.net (http://www.wwkc.net/).
Munster Canoe Polo League
The Munster league has just finished with two divisions. There were 10 teams entered playing over five nights. These nights were split over several weeks.
CANI Canoe Polo League
The CANI Canoe Polo league is currently running in Belfast with 7 teams. The league started ont he 9th Dec and as with the Munster league is split over several weeks. The results can be found at http://www.cani.org.uk/pololeague (http://www.cani.org.uk/pololeague)
Interversities
The interversities competition took place on the weekend of the 18th Febuary. The canoepolo event was win by DCU with MUCK (Maynooth) coming second, TCD(Trinity) third and UCD fourth. 14 teams made the journey to Belfast to compete in the competition and the standard was good with some of the players from the Irish squads being represented at some of the colleges.
National Competitions
This year the National League(NL) will comprise of 4(possibly 5, tbc) competitions, best 3 results counting.
The entry fee for the National League 2005 will be Euro40.
Teams entered in the NL will not have to pay any further National Canoe Polo Committee levies at any of the NL competitions(Euro20 per team per competition) - meaning by attending the minimum 3 comps, you save Euro20, attend 4 and save Euro40 etc.
In some of the NL competitions(possibly Belfast/Limerick), the number of teams is usually restricted as only one pitch is available indoors - so teams already entered in the NL will be given priority over others.
Dates are as follows :
Belfast: April 16/17 (4 aside, indoor)
Limerick: April 23/24 (indoor)
Carrick-on-Shannon: June 4/5
Cork: August 20/21
Wicklow/Dublin: Venue and date to be confirmed.
Entries will be accepted up to April 15.
This will be updated when we have confirmation on the venue for the 5th competition, as of now it's best 3 results from a possible 4, from 5 if the last competition goes ahead.
The Irish Club Championships will be held in Kilcock on the 16th/17th July.
International Competitions
Europeans 6th - 11th September
Irish Open 17th/17th September.
Refereeing
There will be a canoepolo refereeing course on Saturday the 9th April. Venue to be decided. It will run for approximately 3-4 hours.
