I get sooooo hot playing in my helly henson short sleeved thermal, particularly on indoor heated pools during the winter league tournaments. However, the rules say you have to wear some sort of t-shirt and I want something quick dry because I'm slow enough without carrying a pools worth of water too. Can anybody out there recommend some other torso covering that won't result in me boiling up by the end of the first half?

Much appreciated,
Mal

You need to use a rash vest.

These originate from the surfing world, as sun blockers or to be worn under wetsuits or on their own to avoid rashes.

There are loads available, some of which are nice to look at some of which are functional only. Most surf shops sell them but a few polo stockists sell them branded for polo. Look at Dave Brown, Clyde and Peaks sites for examples.

Cheers

Ian

PS Wearing thermals inside is not the best style statement to make!!!!

Oh no! Not only am I hot, I'm unfashionable. Surely that's the worse sin!

rash vests are def the best way to go. Know a couple of people that have worn Chill Cheater tops when playing now that's very very warm inside.

When I bought my first one I figured it would be less hot than a thermal (thus suit me better in a heated pool). I quickly found out that it really doesn't matter very much. For pool use nowadays I prefer cotton (preferably the cheaper shirts which contain loads of polyester, to minimise the water intake), a few sizes too smal so I don't look like a broken down tent :D
