I intend to run a referees course to coincide with a Scottish Div 2
tournament this season. This will take place 27th of February at the Fife
Institute of Sport, Glenrothes, in the reading room.
This course will start at 9am, and will involve the rules in detail,
followed by the opportunity to sit a referees exam, up to grade 2 level. You
must have the relevant level below the grade you wish to sit, and any new
referees will commence at grade 4.
The cost of the course will be £12.50, or if you wish to receive a refs pack
£20. (Which includes whistle, cards, paddle gauge etc.)
In advance of the course it would be worthwhile if you have read the
rulebook. The chances of passing an assessment are
increased if you read these in advance.
Any non-playing individuals interested in learning the rules, and becoming
refs are encouraged to attend, and for these people the course will be 100%
free!! An offer hard to refuse?
If you successfully pass the written exam, you have one year to complete a
practical assessment, and there will be a limited opportunity to be assessed
at the div 2 competition in the afternoon. Anyone who does not get assessed
can get in touch with an assessor at a later date, and I will provide you
with the current list of assessors on the day.
I hope you are interested in attending, and would appreciate it if you could
email or pm me to let me know the following
1. If you want to attend
2. Name
3. Current refs status if any
If you have any questions at all please feel free to ask?
Hope to hear from you soon.
Cheers
