Mark Lewi was advertising a $400 carbon Rogue

Is that cheap enough? If you are looking at paying anything less than that, you might want to remove the "fast" bit from your original msg.

I don't think Nzrs realise what a good deal they get in polo boats and second hand polo boats.

Do you realise that kevlar is about $70per metre? Some boats have 10m depending on how many layers. Then there is labour, resin, seam tape, seats footpegs (bumbers $40 a pair) ...

Not to mention time spent in developing designs, building plugs and making molds...

*the rogue mould is reputed to be worth $10,000.

Just like leaky cardboard houses that have been on the news lately: you get what you pay for

Carbon boats do crack and are harder to repair. The price is alright though but its not my thing.

:wavey:

a carbon rogue will crack more as not only is carbon prone to shear, the carbon boats were built very light, any boat built that light would break no matter what it was made of. But damn it was good to paddle a light boat!!!! Until it filled up with water that is :(

but the comments by guest are completely accurate, you get what you pay for and some of the top level boats are beautiful in form and function, but you have to pay the extra for them. The rogue mould is a full production mould made off a plug would come so very close to perfect and it is worth every cent.

Pay more and get fast or else settle for cheap and slower/crappier.
