I wouldnt say a foot, but a few inches yes. But that is still a lot for Texas. We hardly ever get snow here.

Ah...that messy white stuff covering my brown grass outside my window. Too much thinking of Canada in Feb brought this upon us Eric! Quick, we must think of something warmer...

Oh, like me kayaking in May in the Carribean! Now THAT'S the stuff! You see? 60 degrees it is!

steffers
27-12-2004, 11:22 PM
whoooo's gonna be kayaking in the carribean? that's right, two cool cats from texas going to tropical places because texas is proving to be not so tropical afterall (at least not enough) give me warmth or give me death! (nobody even talk about the fact i live in boston right now)

Hey Steph! I just got out of a meeting with Edee Hanson (the pool) and she was telling me that they go sailing in the Caribbean every other year. Yeah, like 3 whole boats worth of them. Her husband is a "Comodore" and he gets teriffic prices through a company called "Moorings." It is only $600 per person, per week for your own cabin, and you get to help sail the ship. :) They go to all the good, remote islands and just party on the boats for a bit, go to shore, etc and then skip to the next one. Anyways, the offer was opened to us if we wanted to join in sometime in the next couple of years. I am thinking of '07 as a real good possibility...

Did I mention that most of them were all scuba certified? 2 years ago they were all down there and got a REAL good, close up view of the Great White! Heheheheheh.....my kind of adventure!

Mon.

steffers

watch Open Water and spare me the explanation of why im not getting scuba certified as we speak. sounds great. 2007....ok...that should give me enough time to pay off what im spending on my bahamas vacation now! why we'rent you at polo! wont we be old by 2007? with jobs and house payments and student loans and taxes, not to mention being bruised and broken from too much polo to the growth plates?

Eric
29-12-2004, 03:28 AM
Too much polo? what?

steffers
30-12-2004, 12:47 AM
yes yes i know, never enough polo mr. i want to go paddling on the lake after a 3 hour intensive polo and drill session followed by a 6 mile bike ride. sheesh. you make me feel old already. ok, but who wants to go camping? cliff time? marshmallows? yeeeeaaaaaaa:thumbup:

Monica

I don't consider 23 to be old skwerl. :) And you will offend most of the people who read these forums if you say so again! Hahahaha.... And yeah, I don't have any loans or bills out. School is free for me, remember? So I am set!

I was at a meeting for work that went way over scheduled time. Thus my absense. Oh well. I am sure you had a better game from me NOT being the ref. ANd it isn't like I am allowed in my boat right now anyways...
Pizza at tomorrows pracitce. :)

GO ERIC! My mission for this week was to wear you down, but you are showing everyone up by going completely above the expected limit...hehe...don't worry though, you are going to get a GOOD drill tomorrow! Hahahahahahaha!!! Jason, you are free to come along! But expect pain.

Monica
30-12-2004, 08:05 PM
Oh, and the cliff was shut down. Care to find us a new campground that will allow bondfires? We have the supplies for smores!

steffers

WHA!!?? SHUT DOWN??? they can't doooo that!! how dare they take away our means for misdameanor antics and revelry. ok, i am on a mission. Lake Texoma anyone? kayaking/hiking/camping? or biking at green belt? help me make the most of this awesome anomolistic weather before i go back to death cold land again. rar, but first, must finish the most addicting book in the world.

eric, im proud of you too, you're like mine and monica's project-kick butt in the works (mostly monica's). jason, your darn good too so dont think we're buttering up eric without you. just spend less time with your gf ok? your polo boat is your woman now.

by the way, this off topic thread needs a little update via new texas weather report: currently sunny and 69 degrees and has been the past week. take that snow! :D

Monica

Yeah, I did the whole skirt and short sleeved blouse thing today. 19C is what the bank said in Little Elm today on my way back from Denton.

Eric, you go up there and kick those Canadians! Hahahahahahahahah....yeah, you all heard me out there. :)

Jason, Steph is right. Ditch the distraction and get back with your REAL love! After that little goalie talk we had last week, I have never seen you so on fire before! You see? I told you being a goalie was an aggressive job! Eric, we need to have that talk.

See yall in 15 minutes! YEAH! Oh, and props to Steph for her (somewhat) ref-ing job the other day!

Jason

Well im just waiting for long hours to practice so i dont have to wait a week to really go and paddle again. I also dont have that much time in the week to throw my ball at the rec since i have been spending many hours at DJCC working on my animations. Im keeping my skills up. Dont worry about it. You havent lost me and goalie still doesnt fit my play style all that much.

Monica
26-01-2005, 07:06 PM
Hey, I got an idea. How about you show up to a full practice (or to a practice in general...;)) and we'll work on some skills that will get you out of goal. Otherwise, you get stuck playing the position you are naturally good at.

YEA! Monica is back in her boat!!!!! Happy days are back again. Oh, and this 80 degree weather screams for a paddle. :) I'm off to the lake!
Mon.

Eric
26-01-2005, 07:15 PM
well whenever you decide to goto the lake, let me know and i will see about going w/....other than that, you can prb find me at the rec or something.....and im also thinking about getting a Exposure membership so i can start some rock climbing also.....so i would have school, work, Polo, and Rock climbing.....that would be a fun time

steffers
26-01-2005, 09:20 PM
80 degrees!!! eehhhhh! crap that's warm. check it out, i could go snow paddling here. the blizzards have been so insane that they declared the city of boston in a state of snow emergency hehhe.

what you're seeing (hopefully) is the sidewalk down Commonwealth Ave with BU on the left side, then the other is of some student housings on Baystate where i live. i saw a girl playing around with her bf and she jumped into a huge snow drift expecting to be buried but instead found a car underneath. hehe. crazy

MaryAnn
26-01-2005, 09:27 PM
i think you might have even more snow that we have in alberta, i wish we had alot though:thumbup:

Monica
26-01-2005, 09:33 PM
Damn Skwerl. Have fun with those ganked lunch trays! :) Find a car for me at the bottom of a steep hill! ;)

Eric, you need to decide where you are going to be for college, and THEN look at getting a pass! I know A&M has an awsome wall as does Tech and UNT. All but the last have really good programs for what you want to do. BUt yeah. You are looking at spending a lot of money on a pass that you will only be here to use for the next few months. :)

SOrry MaryAnne. No snow for you, and I like it that way. You people scare me...looking like the abominable snow man all the time...

speaking of rock walls, come to BU!!!! the best and hardest indoor wall is being built on campus and it's free for students!! there's the best polo in the states right here, plus you'd already know one really hip cat that would be more than glad to help you get your feet on the ground. every program here is very well reputed. what are you looking to concentrate in?

Monica
27-01-2005, 09:03 PM
It just seems that everytime I am there, you are A)Missing in Action (hehe...probably with the girlfriend...) B)late or C)leaving early

I know I can't talk as I have been out for the last like, month and a half...wait. Right, the back. But I am back now, so you should come too! HEHE!!!!! GO POLO.

Eric

Mon,
I am not looking to get a UNT Rec pass. I was kinda refering to when "i was a Freshman in College" and went to roll practice.

Squirrll,
I am looking to major in Architecture. I have UTA picked out, unless i cant afford it. Then i will goto Quad C for some basics.

P.S. 14 days till CTN

steffers

Oh don't get huffy. I am just ragging on you.

Eric...who said anything about a UNT Pass? That would be dumb. If you want to climb up there, tell me and I can get you in for free. Duh. So how's that college application going by the way? You know you actually have to send those things off right? Done any digging for schlorships for people in weird sports? I KNOW there are some out there.

:) Have a good day yall!

"OK, now BACK PADDLE! 10 sets of 50yd's on 30 seconds!" Hehe...yeah, you can thank my swim team coaches for that one. I just adapted it. :) Hahah...Eric was doing 100yds last night. Ask him if those were fun. By his second one though, he was almost dead for the last 25. He is getting more endurance though. Keep it up and you and Mary can cruise together.

Off to work. Ok...What has been your suckiest job yet?
Oh, and my favorite thing to work on has been shooting with sprints.:) Eric, you can't block many of mine yet...

Mon.

Eric

Eric

Monica
30-01-2005, 11:29 PM
Oh I know. Damn sneaky Monica...always shooting like an ace and making goals...hahahahahah...a little arrogance coming out. I am begining to sound like Clinton! Ugh. Shoot me.

How did you like that rap-around pass last night??!!! Eh? Ben looked confused for like, 3 seconds before he noticed I didn't have it anymore!

Eric
30-01-2005, 11:33 PM
i like it...i congratlated u when u did it

and i remember practicing that when me, u, jason and steph were at the pool that one sunday

Monica
30-01-2005, 11:37 PM
haha..that was excellent. Sneaky sneaky lifeguards.

Oh man, I kept telling Emily last night to push me and she shook her head in fear. And then I told Katherine to just shoot it and she looks at me like I was stupid. She also shook her head in fear. She passed it back, and then I told her to shoot it and (again) passed it to her. *shakes head.

Peter Mayfield is looking so much like Joe (on and off the water) it is scary. That kid has no fear whatsoever. It is awsome. He had 3 steals (one of which was from BEN!). I like him. :p

Eric
30-01-2005, 11:39 PM
yeah....he just needs to get older...then he will be a great player

i almost had a good steal from ben if we were about 6 inches more from the edge

Jason
31-01-2005, 03:56 PM
Do those little ones know there rolls yet?

Monica
31-01-2005, 05:31 PM
I believe Ben Mayfield can paddle roll. Peter can escamo, and that's about it right now. Hehe...he is so tiny though. If he tried to hip snap he would fall out of the skirt! :) On the other hand, Mr. Mayfield has finally got his hand roll! Keep it up!

can we slip growth hormones in the little mayfields' water? maybe joe really will have his mayfield armada when he gets back. just watch out they're not tooo much like our fondly spoken of former player ;)

my suckiest job was cleaning moldy buckets with straight bleach in a small uncirculated room and peeling thorns off of roses and hauling tons of trash and boxes to a dumpster 3 blocks away when i worked my first job at the Florist....all for $4.15/hr. i guess they had to get back at me somehow for working below the legal age limit.

Monica
01-02-2005, 09:50 PM
Hahah...I remember that, Steph. That was about the same time Patch Adams came out..
I can't say I have ever really had a crapy job. I guess the one I have liked LEAST out of everything I have done would be working at The Ice in Stonbriar mall when it first opened. I was not used to the typical teenage minimum wage and my boss really hated me. Not that I really cared, but it did make it a bit uncomfortable sometimes. I lasted a grand total of 2 months down there.
Oh, and lifeguarding my second year at UNT was a total drag. Thank God my boss quit and I now have one who appreciates my sport and promotes it!

Mon.

why does my ****ty job remind you of patch adams? my bio prof talked about that movie today actually because robin williams worked with schizophrenics (sp) and we're learning how hyperdopamine secreations induces the disease and if not enough dopamine is there then you get parkinsons...loosely speaking that is. pretty neat huh!

Pfft. You people don't have a chance of getting that going. But I will tell you what WILL have a good chance! When this becomes an olympic sport (20012 I believe is the dream date) then each country is going to be shooting commercials of the competitors and such. We could all do that for our respective countries and make it that way.

Then again, there really isn't any money in that. But it still could be fun, to say the least. I hear they only take the GOOD looking athletes...Ah, yet another advantage to being young and cute!
Hey Skwerl, you and I could double team them ALL! Who wants to look at those ratty men's team guys on national tv anyways! Sorry Eric.

can i move to canada or germany and make a living with odd jobs and spend the rest of my time kayaking like a pro? i can sleep on the floor.

Sleep on the floor?

You can sleep in Andrews bed ... he left it in my basement. :-) Apparently he has a real job or something.

Not that Canada is a big buttkickin' polo nation, but we are practising.
A lot of Canadas top players have spent time being bums in my house (well my girlfriend/wifes house actually:eek: ).
Jeremy, Catherine, Clinton, Andrew, ... ME!
I am sure I could convince her to let you in.:D
Not too mention all the jobs we have up here in GP.
