A chairde,
Attached please find the timetable complete for DCPL Spring 2005. Apologies for the delay in publishing the full timetable. Please note that despite all efforts there are several occasions where a team has only one game per night, particularly towards the end of the season.
Please take a moment to note if the changes listed below affect your schedule in any way.
Important notice:
When planning the Spring League, we assumed that the Friday of 1/Apr/05 would be the best one to coincide with Easter Monday. However Easter Monday is on the 28th March this year, so the 25th of March will have no matches instead.
The date of night J is changed from 25/Mar/05 to 1/Apr/05.

The pool management have closed the pool for this weekend at very short notice (this afternoon). They are not open to persuasion. Apparently they are having problems with the heating of the pool.
We have no choice but to postpone all of tonight's matches (25th Feb 2005)
The affected teams are:
Aquacats A
Demons
Dragons
Little Demons
Mohawks
Newbies
Screwballs
Smarties
Smashing Polos
Spectre
To Be Confirmed
Tornados
We will attempt to contact each team individually ASAP.
Regards,
Simon
Hi Simon
Thats a pain about the matches last night. I have noticed over the last couple of weeks the pool was really cold (very unplesant when you have to roll or swim!!) Do you think they are going to open the pool again or do you think theres a possibility they are going to close for good?

We'll have to confirm next week when we're able to contact the pool management. The story we have is that the pool was closed for 48 hours to allow the heat build up in the water.
We'll update this thread with news later this week.

I have been informed that the pool is back open again.
Simon can you let us know what is going to happen with last weeks games.
Some suggestions to help:
1) Determine the scores for all games.
2) Move all games back one week.
3) Move last weeks games to just before the playoffs. (As some people have already determined their weekends around the current timetable this might be a good workaround).

I have confirmed with the pool management that the remaining weeks will not be affected. However, it may continue to be cold - part of canoeing!

3) Move last weeks games to just before the playoffs. (As some people have already determined their weekends around the current timetable this might be a good workaround).
1) I would not accept this as a player and will not offer it as a solution
2) Most likely solution - unless we use one of the nights set aside for long weekends
3) Another good solution, however would involve (like 2 above) pushing all subsequent games out by 1 week. The pool management have indicated they will accept this.
I'll be in contact with the affected teams this week to determine their preferences.
Simon
If you push all the games back by a week you are affecting Every single team in the league and not giving them much notice about it. It's already Wednesday, can you at least confirm that the games scheduled for this Friday will go ahead unaffected?
The games obviously have to be played before playoffs but it would be best to slot them in on a night as far in the future as possible so people can be fully notified and change their plans etc.
I think that was option 3.

I agree play the matches as late as possible in the season. i know we had a request not to play on a couple of dates in april and if the matches are put back a week one of those dates is effected. Definitely the later the better!

The rescheduled matches will go ahead next Monday, 11th Apr. All teams should be contacted individually also. Here's the message from Liz:
---------------------------------------------
Hi Folks,
Please find attached the spreadsheet with details of the rescheduled matches. These have been done to best suit all.
Apologies for the short notice and also for the lateness of the
matches running, but we have tried ever possible conutation to have these matches played and this is the best solution available.
Teams have given up their training sessions to accomodate us. The loss of the original night was through no fault of the DCPL, however apologies for the inconvenience to everyone
Please do not hesitate to contact me, either by mail or at 087-2485584 should you have any additional queries
Best Regards,
Liz

Hi Folks,
Smashing Polos have pointed out they have been assigned back to back matches, so I was wondering if there was no objection from Spectre and Mohawks, would you be in agreement to play your match earlier at 11:00 and Smashing Polos and To be Confirmed take the 11:18 slot.
Please advise at the earliest opportunity
Thanks
Liz

I expect to issue on Wednesday.

Attached please find the most up-to-date timetable (Rev 5) including results up to 06/May.
Please note that the results for Div 2 have affected the timetable and these have been filled-in. Also note that, for any remaining Div 2 matches, there must be winners, so if you're the ref and normal time ends with a draw use 2 halves extra time with golden goal, progressing to penalties.
There may be some games re-scheduled from this Friday, pending the acceptance of 2nd party teams.
Kind regards,
Simon
