Can someone even confrim this is going to fly next Feb., cause there are a lot of ppl that I know have possibly already gotten tickets to E-town. I'm sorry to be a pain in the ass but this is kind of important if the pool time isn't booked yet with the dates that ppl have already mentioned to when the tournament actually is.

Hey Guys you should go to www.paddleewp.com (http://www.paddleewp.com) to find out information on the Cup of The North, check the calander and the forums!
The dates are the 11/12/13 of February
Rich:D
So these dates are 100% sure?
The dates have been confirmed as Fri., Feb 11; Sat. Feb., 12 and Sun., Feb 13 and there will be games Friday night!! The exact times are not in place depending on the tournament format. But games Friday will likelyl not start before 6 PM and games Sunday may run as late as 6 PM. The banquet will likely be on Sunday.
The tournament format and cost are being discussed at present.
Hey guys,
I can make it up to the comp, but i dont have a team yet...
im wondering..
1) Is there any openings?
2) Is there people who also cant find a team?
This may have already been posted, but what are the divisions going to be?

If no one else doesn't mind, I'd like to put this under general polo to attract some interest. If no one objects I'll do it since the organizers aren't on this forum.

Earlier bird registration cost $400 before Jan 1st.
Late entry cost $450.
Registration close Jan 15th.
To register please email dalob@shaw.ca (Dale O'Brien ), with team contact, team name and number of players, and he will send instructions on where to send the payment.
With the increase in interest and the demands of people that can not decide where they belong, a new competition format has been setup.
Limit of 16 teams can register, so register early.
These teams will be seeded into groups of four based on last years placing and if you did not attend last year by results from other tournaments.
After an intial round robin in these groups the top two in each group will go into division one, and the bottom two into division two.
Each division will have it own set of placings and awards.
Each division will be split be seeded into two groups based on first round results. And play a round robin in these groups. The top two in group A division 1 will do a cross over playoff with the top two in group B division 1(for 1-4th place). The bottom two in group A division one will do a cross over playoff with the bottom two in group B division 1 (for 5-8th place)
Every team will get 8 games, 6 against division rivals and 2 against the other division. That is if we get 16 teams registered.
There is no restrictions on teams other than they can not have more than 8 players. They can be all male, all female, youth, masters or any combination inbetween.

Wait a second...this is seriously going to hurt players who are on more than one team, if both were to make it into one division. How is this going to be addressed? I know that there is one team that is forming with many people playing on another team, just so a few of our players in the US can come. Is this a final decision?
Monica.
This would mean that a person could only play on one team. Exceptions would be at the discretion of the organizers, but will be hard to get, as we can not have a person playing on two teams that might end up in the same division.

Well Eric, I am not sure what to tell you as it seems that we are no longer able to put together a team for you.

25 15:00 Division 1 1st Div 1A 4th Div 1A
Can someone explain how these teams are determined?
At game 25 (listed above) I understand that the teams from the original four groups get placed into two divisions that have an A and B component. But, in game 25 how are "1st Div 1A" and "4th Div 1A" determined? It doesn't seem like any divisional games have been played yet to place teams.
Thanks,
