Is there a ranking of the groups available??

There are various posts here with that give the seedings - but I'll put in short version here

Women, from 1 to 8, accroding to finishing in 2000
Ger, GBR, FRA, JPN, Aus, Irl, NZL, Can

Men, from 1 to 16, according to finishing in 2000
GBR, NED, GER, ITA, AUS, FRA, South Africa, Spain,
Brazil, Switzerland, Taiwan, Bel, Jpn, USA, CAN, Arg

Q: What is the Irish mens rank? Just wondering if they have any.

It's a pretty rough-justice ranking system. A team's ranking is based on their finish place a tthe previous world champs.
Given the vagaries of the draw system used, this might bear little relation to the real relative strength of the team.

And if you didn't play last time, then you get no ranking!!

We need a better system. HEnce the reason for the petition.
