Ireland v Taiwan
The game started badly for Ireland with Taiwan scoring after 2 minutes. Ireland had a break afterwards with Stretch gaining the ball and with John Caffery on the sprint. Stretch throws the ball but it bounces slightly in front of John, who was under the goal, and bounces out of play. Unforturnately for Ireland the play went against them again and Taiwan scored three more times at 7 minutes, 8 1/2mins and 9 1/2 mins. Ireland had one more shot at goal with G bouncing a ball of the goalpost. Score at half time remained 4-0 to Taiwan.

Ireland came out in the second half with a vengence. Vinny took a penalty shot after 11 minutes to bring the score to 4-1. Taiwan responded with a long shot into the net catching the Irish off guard. The Irish did not take this lying down and Vinny scored another goal after 4 mins and another followed shorted after. G then picked up a greeen card at the half way mark in the second half. Ireland got another penalty after a bad blck under the goal. Vinny goes up and places the ball in the back of the net. Stretch gets another shot at goal and gets a corner. Vinny gets the ball form the throw and again places the ball cleanly in the net. Score is now 5-5 with 2 mins to go. Taiwan get the ball forward and finish witht he ball in the net. ireland was able to keep the ball for the remainder of the match but were unable to put the ball away. Final score 5-6 to Taiwan.

In game 2 Ireland come out with the intention of making up for the defeat in the first game and they do this with style.

John Caffery beats the Swedes to the ball on the sprint and the team keeps hold of the ball until Vinny eventually score 2 mins into the game. On the restart Vinny was able to sprint back to the Irish goal to pull off a good save. Ireland wins the sideline throw and Fabio makes the break, Vinny passes him the ball and he scores. Fabio again gets a break for goal but is fouled just under the goal and is rewarded a penalty. Vinny scores. 3-0 to the Irish. No 1 for Sweden manages to put a goal away from a bad defensive manoeuvre from the Irish team. In retaliation John Caffery comes back with another goal. No6 fro Sweden takes a shot and the shot bounces of the goal. Score remianed at this score until halftime, Score 4-1 to Ireland.

Again at the restart John Caffery manages to win the ball. There is a bad pass from Ireland and the ball goes to the sideline. Sweden quickly take sthe ball and catch Ireland unawares to brign the score to 4-2. Another foul incide the goal area and this is taking quickly going over the bar for a corner. Conor takes the corner and passes the ball into the play area. Another foul under the goal and G shoots pulling off a spectacular goal. John Caffery sprints from the other half and a good pass comes his way and it ends up in the net. Sweden again is caught of guard and gerry gets forward to score a goal. Sweden again foul under the goal and Fabio passes to John Caffery who scores to make the score 8-2. A green card is rewarded to to Sweden No. 4 and John Caffery also gets a card about a minute later. Sweden lose procession Conor shoots but misses. G blocks a man aggainst the sideline and gets a Yellow card for his troubles.
With only two minutes to go Stretch has another shot for goal but misses. Find score Ireland 8 Sweden 2.

The final results for the day see Germany with two wins, Ireland and Taiwan with 1 and Sweden with 0.

This was there U21s first match and they were out to play the best they could. Sean put a blinder display on in goals and scored a goal for Ireland.

Brazil win the ball at the start with Mark Brogan having to roll after fighting for the ball. Brazil take early control of the match scoring the first goal after 2 minutes. Sean has a couple of good saves to start a magnificent performance in goal. In the 7th minute Brazil has a goal disallowed and things seemed to be going the Irish way. No. 8 for Brazil picks up a green card. Ciaran has a good save from the zone to help keep the ball out. Ciaran then shots from a sprint but the ball goes wide. Sweden gains procession and sprint for the other half in the dieing minutes of the half but no score. Half time score Ireland 0 Sweden 1.

Mark chases for the ball on the restart and manages to block the ball allowing Mark to pick it up for Ireland. Ciaran shoots for goal but the ball goes wide. Ireland rgain procession and play the ball until Sean gets himself into a position to shoot. Ball saved by the Brazilian goalkeeper. Brazil move Forward and try to shoot for goal again, another good save by Sean. Ireland keep the abll and Ciaran has a shot, over the top. Brazil rush up and return the favour. Ireland put the pressure on again and Sean places the ball in the net to equalize the score. Mark manages to get the ball under the goal but the ball hits the side net. Brazil are awarded a dubious penaly with 1 minute to go. Is this the end for Ireland. No8 for Brazil takes the shot and misses. Ireland get a reprieve and the score finishes 1-1.

Great results so far, Adrian, the match reports are like being there, I can imagine the heart wrenching moments in the last two minutes against taiwan!:eek: Keep the good work up.:thumbup: G this is a great facility for those of us left at home this time to keep up with the results. Did Ireland play as well as they should, or have Taiwan really stepped up a grade ? (OR am I remembering them wrongly anyway ?)

From reports from Germany the Irish didn't play as well as they could have in the Taiwan game. They did however come from 5 0 down which was a great recovery. The team from Taiwan have improved a lot. I saw them in Hong Kong last January where the won the Asian Cup defeating the japanese.

Report was typed yesterday but I lost the internet connection before I could complete the post.

The Ireland women come out onto the pitch in blistering sunshine (27deg) to meet the USA womens squad. Màire is given the task of sprinting for the ball and she is successful in cpturing the ball and pushing it back to Coàimhe to pick up. Shortly after Aidenn is invloved in a referees ball and she wins rthe face off. Màire gets the break and sprints up to the 6M line where the ball lands to much to her right so that she has to turn to pick it up. The ball gets passed into Coàimhe and she makes sure that it ends in the net. Ireland able to capture the ball from the restart and in the fifth minute Ireland get a goal disallowed much to the booing from the Irish supporters. Màire throws form a corner to Aidenn who passes to Mary but the ball bounces of the post out of play. No 8 for USA decides to check if there is any fish in the pool and forgets that she is supposed to stay in the boat. She swims out on the Irish goalline and takes so long to get out that it mnay as well have been a yellow card offense(ie 2 min). The USA coach eventually comes up and helps her out and carries her boat back to her half. (Not allowed, he was lucky she did not get a red card).With seconds to go Aideen is passsed the ball in her own half. She flicks the ball with the paddle and moes up to the USA goal, one flick,, two flicks, countdown on, 2 secs to go and she does her last fashionable flick of the ball on the paddle and it flys pass the USA keeper into the net. Got to be goal of the tounament. 2-0 to the Irish at half time.

Ireland again win the ball on the restart. Cheers erupt from the Irish benches (All the Irish teams came to support with the rentamop group providing the loudess outbursts). The atmosphere was out of control with OH´s and Yehs ringing out with each pass of the ball. When the Irish passed the ball Ahás rang out and whent hey lost the ball Oh´s rang out. Some boos slipped in when the USA passed the ball but these were limited. Later on in the game they swapped the cheering around and when USA passed the ball they Ahed them as well.

Aideen rewarded all this cheerign with a goal in the 6th minute and another a minute later. 4-0 to the Irish. USA mange to puch the ball ino the Irish half and suddenly Ireland get the ball again. Michele and Aideen sprint forward neck to neck with not a USA player in sight. Ball thrown to Aideen who again dutifuly places the ball in an undefended net to the shouts of the Irish. Mary has one more shot at goal but the USA goalie was in the goal and pulled of a save. Final score 5-0 to the women.

Ireland Men came out all dressed to play with no opposition. The Lithuanian team did not show and hence this game became a scratch. (All Lithuanian games were scratches).

1 win and 1 draw to the mens U21 team. Only France to play.

Thw weather has broken and the Irish Women slip into their wet gear to go out and play a young Hungarian team.

Since our arrival the sun has been splitting the skies making it tirinig work for the teams to compete. Now we were in Irish climate and the women were to take full advantage of it.

At the sprint Sinead got the ball and passed it back in order to get the ball out of the Hungarians reach. After only 30secs Aideen has scored the first goal. First blood to the Irish. Ireland were beginning to dominate the game taking control of the ball from the start. Aideen soon has another shot at goal but it goes wide. It is 3 mins inot the game and Hungary at last gets the ball and charges forward with their first attampt on goal. Ball goes over the net. Ireland get the break again and after 5 mins Michelle is passed the ball and the ball is sunk into the back of the net. Half time score Ireland 2 Hungary 0.

Ireland are slow of the line at the restart and Hungary manage to get to the ball first. They have a shot at goal after about a minute but Mary is in the goal and saves the shot. Soon after this Aideen again has the ball and has a long shot but the ball hits the bottom of the post and slips out of play. The ball is evenly spread between the two teams and at the 7th min Aideen gets the ball and lopes it forward to Michelle who scores a goal. Hungary fumble the ball on the restart and Ireland get the ball and Màire sprints forward. The ball comes to Màire and she promply picks it up and finsihes it in the back of the net to shouts of `you will never beat the Irish´ from their captive audience of fans. Mary again pulls of a good save due to a slip up freom Ireland in the marking in the zone. They will have to be careful here. Hungary put pressure on the Irish in the last minute of play but Ireland hold them of to finish the game 4-0 to Ireland Womens.

The Irish are going into this game knowing that they need a win or they are out of the top 16. So they have to go out for all or nothing.

The German sprinter beat John to the ball but went straight over the ball letting John Caffery to pick it up. Ireland fumble with the ball in the zone and the Germans sprint up the pitch, three of them with G sprinting with them. G has no chance and the ball ends in the back of the net after 2 minutes. Ciaran Dolan takes a shot at goal a minute later but it is over. Germans foul in the Irish half and John Caffery sprints up followed by the German team the ball comes in and lands with John. John shoots he scores. 1:1. Ciaran pulls of a nice save and the ball falls to the Irish team, John flies forward but suddenly Fabio is awarded a Green card. Germany sprint back and score a goal after another save. Ireland get the ball and move up bit of playing around the goal and Ireland shots ball goes wide. Germany comes back up and scores again. Ireland take the ball back up and are fouled about 6m out. Ireland passes the ball around and they are fouled on shot. Penalty!!!!!. Vinny shots and scores. 3:2. Germany come back up and Ireland galie is pushed under the goal given a goal to Germany. Ireland has another shot but ball goes out for penalty. Germany comes up and scores on the verge of halftime. 5-2 to Germany.

Ireland get beaten to the ball and John goes up on top of the players boat and gives a foul. Ireland are able to regain the ball and John sprints from the other half to score another good goal. Ireland regain procession but lose it in the other half. Germany sprint up and score a goal. Germany again gets the ball half a minute later and the score goes to 7-3. Ireland moves back up the court and a lovely pass to Gerry and he puts the ball in the back of the net. John gets another foul under the goal and shoots but punches of the bar to Vinny. Vinny was under the goal but too close and the ball punched of the side. Both Stretch and No6 for Germany get Yellow carded after the German held unto Stretches paddle on the way up the pitch. Still 7-4 are two minutes to go. Four on four and Germany gain procession of the Irish and they score making it 8-4. Fabio fouled within the 6M mark and passes to Conor who scores. G saves the ball with 14sec to go.

Valiant effort put on by the Irish team but their first game on Monday has put an end to their chances of a high level position. Ireland now can come no higher than 17th.

Don't you just hate it. Last week Ireland finished above Australia in a competition (possibly hlped by a mickey-mouse draw system).

This week they can finish no better than 17th !!!! Ok, it wasn't helped by losing to Taiwan. But to finish no better than 17th because of one less than glorious game ? Or because of a bum draw system ?

While teams like USA, Polan and Brazil are now guaranteed to finish higher, and gain a better ranking for the next World Championships !!! (But will they enjoy the thrashings they will no doubt suffer in the next few games)

Must make the blood boil. But don't just get sad or mad about it. Go sign the petition (http://www.canoepolo.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=515) to change the draw system.

And let all your canoe-polo friends know about the draw, and get them to sign it too. Distribute it as widely as you can.

As in the U21 match yesterday the Lithuanian team did not show and this was a walkover for the men. The men were buzzed to the sky and were out with a vengence to redeem their honour. This shall be seen in their performance later in the day.

The men went out inot this match knowing that they only had to stay under 4-0 to get through to the next round. So they went out to battle France with a feeling of win or lose who cares, just keep the goal difference down.

Ireland get control of the ball in the zone rattling the French and taking the game directly to them. They ass the ball freely around ensuring that the French did not get near it. Ciaran takes a long shot at goal in the 4th minute and the ball slips over the target. France quickly come back and return the favour with a long shot at goal as well but as witht he Irish ball this went wide. Ireland have the ball again and pass it between themselves for another minute or so until a bad pass is picked up by the French and they are on the sprint shoot again but theya gain miss the target. No5 of the French takes a swipe with his paddle and earns himself a green card for his bother. Ireland back up in the play and France manage to get the ball and play it about slowly to try and retain their composure. Ireland had them rattled. They pass the ball but it bounces out of play. Ireland keep the ball until the end of the half leaving a scoreline of 0-0.

The second half is only 20s old and France receive their first bit of luck a penalty, this was awarded fro the ball being knocked out a players hadn whilst positioning to shoot. France score. Ireland lose the ball again and France have a shot of the top post. , ball rebounds out to one of their players and again the ball bounces of the post. Reprieve for the Irish. Ireland have the ball and Ciaran takes a long shot at goal and it´s in. 1:1. Ireland lose the ball on the restart and the French manage to destroy the zone and knock a ball in. Ireland have the ball for a while but lose on a bad pass. French sprint forward and the ball is in. 3:1. Ciaran takes another long shot and the ball just falls short. This shot was from 3/4 the way up the pitch. France come back on the attack and shot but the ball slips of the side. No6 from France earns himself a green card for punching with the paddle at Mark Brogan. He limps of the pitch holding his wrist to meet one of his fellow paddlers also holding his wrist in the sub area. The irsh are inflicting damage. No 5 for France earns himself a second green card but is able to stay on. France get the ball and sprint forward to pop another goal into the net. Final score France 4 Ireland 1.

Ireland U21 get into the next round on goal difference. Their next games will not be until Friday. Thursday is their day of rest.

To set the scene

Ireland came out into this game knowing that they had already got inot the playoffs and were happy to come second as the pool they would fall inot would be an easier pool.

GB Women are the current Europen champions and they were the team that came second in the World´s last time round. GB had been playing slwo polo up until now but when they met their old rivals, Ireland, they decided to stamp their authority on the competition and take them to the cleaners.

The men were back with a vengence and they were here to prove that they did not deserve to be in the position that they were in. They were out now for damage limitation and to prove to the rest of the World that we should have been in the top 8.

At the start of play both players reach the ball at the same time. Ireland take control of the ball from the start, but G loses it under the Canada goal Canada sprint forward with ball but Ireland get it back and as John sprints forward the classical ball falls for him and he places it in the net. First blood to the Irish. The Canada lose the ball on the restart and John quickly picks it up, passes the ball forward and chase after it, picks it up and cleanly finishes the ball. Canada play the ball forward and they manage to slip a ball pass the Irish defence into the bacl of the net. 2:1 to Ireland. G shoots for the goal and ball bounces of the goal for a corner. Ball is passed to Stretch and Stretch makes short work of the goal. Stretch again has the ball under the Canadian goal and a good pass to John under the goal and John scores. Irleand has the ball again and John passes to Gerry but the ball falls slightly out of reach. Canada pick up the ball and shoot ball falls out for a corner. Canada take a shot agai but the ball is saved by John. Canada take another shot but this one is saved by Ciaran. Ireland charge up the pitch John passes to Gerry and Gerry finishes the job off. 5-1 to Ireland. There is an illegal paddel tackle as Gerry passes to John who would have had a sitter on goal. Penalty awarded. Vinny finishes this ball of. G passes the ball to Conor, who has not scored yet, but Conor shoots wide. Canade have a shot at goal but Conor knocks the ball wide. 6-1 to Ireland at half time.

At the restart John goes to early and a start infringement is awarded against him. Canada get the ball, but not for long. Vinny shoots the ball but Canada pull of a save. A referees ball is awarded and a foul is given against Ireland. Canada get free with the ball and shot but ball goes wide. John sprints immediately and Conor passes the ball over 3/4 of the pitch, good pass, John gets the ball and scores. Gerry gets a sprint for the ball and the ball lands in front of him, he picks the ball up, he shoots, he scoes. 8-1 to Ireland. Another attack on goal and G scores. Canada get the ball under goal and Cairan pulls of a save. Stretch wrenches the ball of Canada shoots to Fabio and Fabio enters the scoring for the game. Conor has the ball again he passes to Stretch and Strtch scores for the second time in the game. Final score 10-0.

John gets the ball at the same time as the NZ player and wins the foul. A pass up the field and the Irish have the ball in the NZ half but John is forced out of play. After about 1minute Ireland get a beautiful goal from Vinny. NZ come straight back and keep the pressure on to eventually score the equaliser. Ireland have the ball in attack again but the ball goes wide. Ball stays with the Irish for most of the half and on the 7th minute John scores the second goal for Ireland. Green card to NZ player. Less than a minute later Fabio has scored a goal making the score 3:1. It remained at this score until half time.

On the restart John gets the ball and the NZ player flies up on Johns boat smacking him in the head. The ball gets passed between players and then Stretch finishes the ball in the net. Stretch gets pushed onto someones boat and leaves the field with a sore jaw. Ireland on the attack again but lose the ball. Ireland setup the zone, with the NZ players making their best effort to destroy the zone. NZ go on the attack and Vinny sprints unto the players boat in a desire to get revenge for John and Stretch (nowhere near just over the boat to get the ball). Ireland get the ball and Conor shoots to Gerry in the NZ goal area but the ball bounces out of play. NZ go on attack and Stretch beats the NZ players to a lose ball. Ireland run back up but NZ have the ball again and are in attack. Ireland setup three man zone and Ireland beat of the challenge of the NZ team. Irelands ball and John is under the net. Pass to Vinny to Stretch and Stretch shoots over Ireland capture the ball again on the restart. Stretch gets a green card for grapping a NZ players shirt with only 20s to go. Ireland hold of from the pressure of the NZ to hold the score at 4-1.

Maire throws ball onto the back of Michelle’s boat and GB picks it up and breaks with 3 players and Ginny scores again for GB. 3 mins in. GB again pick up the ball. Michelle concedes a ball and GB miss the shot. GB intercept and Aideen saves the ball. Ginny feeds the ball into no4 and Aideen saves the ball. Maire thinks it is a goal only to throw the ball inbetween two GB players and Ginny picks it up and scores. Ireland move forward but Aideen gets pushed by Ginny but she holds on and passes to Coaimhe. Aideen tries a backward flick over shoulder but goes wide. England break and Aideen manages to get the ball. Aideen slows the ball down and passes back to Michele and then to Maire. Fumble by Aisling and GB charge and Ginny steals ball and passes to Kirsty who scores a goal. Ball passed to Coaimhe and the goalie gets it and GB on attack again. Another goal by GB goalie plants the ball in the top corner of the net. Aideen sents a hospital pass to Coaimhe and GB get the ball. Half time score 6-0 to GB.

Maire gets the sprints but misses the ball and puts her paddle in. Foul. GB run forward and the ball falls into the goalies hand. Mary has a great save in goal. British on the break and Michelle pushes Ginnie and as she goes over she pops the ball in the net 7-0 after 2 ½ minutes. Bad pass to Caoimhe and she holds the ball back passes to Aideen but ball slips towards a GB player, both fight for ball with paddles and call given to GB. GB player falls over with the ball falls unto Aideens boat and the call is given to GB. Ginny steals ball of Sinead on the goal line GB on break and Ireland manage to get goalie in. Ball goes over. Good defending by Irish. Another easy goal for the GB team. 9-0. Coaimhe gets ball and Aideen then has a good shot at goal only to have it saved. Ireland puts together a good zone and the get the ball out. GB come back and score a 10th and final goal. 10-0 to GB.

Ireland get the ball on the sprint and pass it around the zone only to lose it to Japan. Aideen has a overhead shot but it bounces of the post just as obstruction of the goalkeeper is called. Japan go back on the attack just as the Japanese supporters try to outmatch the large Ireland flag to no avail. Ireland still have the biggest flag pole. Ireland back on attack with pass from Aideen to Caoimhe back to Aideen and she shoots. Ball knocked for a corner, Mary manages to save the ball twice and the third shot goes over the post. Japan win another corner. Japan shoot wide as Maire puts the pressure on and forces a shot. Ireland go on the attack with cheers for all the passes. Maire to Patricia, to Michele, to Aideen, to Maire who shots. Corner awarded. Caoimhe takes a long shot to Aideen but falls just short and the Japanese pick it up just on the verge of half time. Score 0-0.

Maire wins the ball on the sprint and is pushed unto Caoimhes boat. Ireland keep the ball and then Caoimhe has a shot on goal. Ball goes wide, Mary pulls of a save as the Japanese put a bit of pressure on. Japan get the ball and go on attack one player against the goalkeeper but the ball bounces wrong and goes out of play. Japan retain the ball and has another shot at goal to have it saved by Mary. Game stopped as one of the signs fell in the pool. Japan take another shot and saved by Mary. On the corner Japan score a goal 1:0 to Japan. Ireland put a bit or pressure on but Japan get the ball and it is 2 to 1 on Mary in goal, Coaimhe cuts one of and the ball is passed to the other Japanese,she shots, Mary saves. Japan again has another shot and Mary saves again. Foul on Mary and Ireland are on attack. But leaning is awarded against them. Trica gets the ball, passes to Michelle who passes to Coaimhe and the attack is on again. Japan obstruct the goalie but the goal is given to Japan. 2-0 final score to Japan.

The goalline does not do justice to the game and Ireland should have put some goals away. Lets hope they can pick it up a bit and win the next game.

NZ have already beaten Latvia 17-0 so Ireland are hoping that their goal score will be similar. Ireland beat NZ in the last game 4-1

John easily gets the ball and passes to Vinny who passes to G. Gerry passes to John in the zone and John tries to shoot over the paddles of the two defenders on either side to no avail. G comes in on the zone and score through three players. Latvia now take the play to the Irish and Ireland put up a tight zone. Stretch gets the ball, passes to Vinny who passes to Ciaran but a Latvian somehow gets the ball. Ireland soon get the ball back. Stretch gets the ball out of the zone but fumbles it and Latvia get away with the ball. John passes to Ciaran but drops behind him for Latvia who go on attack and John pulls of an excellent pressure save. Latvia get the corner and Ireland get the ball. John and Vinny shot forward and ball lands between them John picks it up passes to Vinny and Vinny scores. G has a shot at goal but it ends up on the top of the goal to delay play. Ireland get the ball and play it into the zone for Ciaran to pick it up and score. 3-0 to Ireland. Vinny pushes a paddler towards the ball and pushes him over as he reaches it but another Latvian is able to pick up the ball and score. Stretch throws a soft shot into John who has found himself free in the zone and John scores. Stretch blocks the ball and John reaches over the boat to grap the ball and for some reason gets a green card. John again finds himself free at the back of the field and the ball comes to him to score 5-1.

John gets the ball on the restart and blocks it letting Fabio pick it up. Stretch comes up behind Fabio and picks up the ball. Stretch pulls of a brilliant dummy and sends the ball into the net. Ireland get the ball again John goes forward passes to G who passes to Vinny shot on goal. Miss. Latvia get the ball and one of their players finds himself forward with no Irish defence and plugs this ball into an empty goal. 6-2 to Ireland. John passes to Stretch who shoots but the ball deflects to John and then Conor picks it up. Across to John on other side and back to Conor. Stretch takes shot but deflected for corner. Conor hassles and wins the free. Pass to Stretch and Stretch throws a bad ball to be picked up by Latvia. G gets green card for holding the ball. Latvia takes long shot but ball goes wide. Stretch wins ball shots to G and G hits side. On the corner John gets the ball and scores. 7-2 and only a minute to go. Ball is passed between players in the last minute, Stretch has a shot on goal but the ball goes wide. Final score 7-2 to Ireland

Mark Brogan gets the ball on the break and Ireland start of well with moving the ball into the Dutch zone but the Dutch have setup a tight zone and the Irish find if hard to break it down. Mark has a shot on goal but if goes wide and the Dutch go into attack. Ireland zone gets easily broken down and the score goes to 1:0 to the Dutch. After about another minute the Dutch make it 2-0. Ireland play with the ball passing it between each other around the Dutch zone with Mark occasionally going in to attack the zone. The ball goes from Ciàran to Mark to Jack and across to Sean. The Dutch get the ball of them and back into attack mode and No7 for the Dutch score with 30secs to go. The score remains at 3-0 to the Dutch at half time.

On the restart the Dutch get the ball and go on immediate attack. Ireland setup a tight zone but the Dutch bide their time and manage to break up the zone making it 4-0. Brogan rushes up and swashes straight into the zone. This lad is one to watch out for in future years. He is only 16 and will be well able for the other teams in years to come. Jack gets the ball and passes it back to Jack. One of the Dutch smacks Mark Mc C with the paddle as he is about to shoot and a penalty to Ireland. Mark shots and the ball bounces of the post. He rushes in and scores the goal form the rebounded ball. 4-1. The Dutch are back in attack but Ireland manages to get the ball. Ciàran passes to Mark and Mark takes a shot and gets a corner. Mark has the ball from the corner and Ciàran paddles up on the left-hand side and finds an undefended spot. Mark passes the ball, Ciàran shoots but the ball goes wide to the right of the post. Mark gets another shot at goal but the ball rebounds out and the Dutch rush forward with it to score again. The Dutch shoot at goal, Sean saves it but the Dutch get a goal from the rebound. Ireland rush forward and have a final shot at the goal but the ball hits the side net. Final score Ireland U21 1 Netherlands U21 6.

Ireland is playing with five out for the first time and get one goal up against the Australians. Ireland is looking strong but Australia manage to come back and score a goal. Ireland hold a strong zone and they manage to get the ball and break. Màire gets caught on wrong side and by the time she backs to the goal Australia have scored with 5 minutes gone. Pass to Michele is blocked and Australia is on the attack only to obstruct the goalkeeper. Irelands ball. Australia keeps the pressure on Ireland and the ball goes into the net. Ireland go on attack but they lose the ball and Australia get lose again to score. With less than a minute to go Aideen takes up position on goal and it is 1:1 and Australia slip it pass Aideen. Half time score 5-1 to Australia.

Màire goes for the ball and she gets the ball at the same time as the Aussie but the Aussie is able to keep her hand on it. Ireland win it back and ball goes to Aideen but Australia get it back. Australia hold the ball and slip forward to score. Mary saves a ball but Australia gets it back and throws a sneaky shot into the goal. Aideen goes on attack and hits the bar. Australia has another shot but Mary saves it. Australia gets the ball and go forward with Aideen flying on top of her boat. The Aussie floats the ball pass her and the score is 8-1. Aisling passes to Aideen and then to Trish. Trish tries to pass back but is fouled. Australia gets the ball of the Irish move forward and Australia score. Aideen passes to Màire and Màire throws a ball to Càoimhe but the ball bounces of her back and out of play. Australia gets the ball again and the score is 10-1. Aideen takes a long shot but the ball is saved. Ireland are back on attack and ball falls for Aideen but she manages to lose it. Australia race forward and make it 11-1. Ireland loses the ball as pass falls short for Michele. Australia race forward and score. Aideen passes to Michele who passes back to Aideen and Aideen shots the ball unto the top of the net. Final score 12 –1 to Australia.

Will do up the reports tomorrow as the internet room is about to close. A lot of games for the Irish today so there is a lot to write up.

The ball goes Irelands way and Ciaran gets hold of it he shots the ball goes wide. Mark has a shot but again it goes wide then Mark gets the ball again and this time he makes sure of it and plants the ball int he back of the net. Taiwan get the ball of Ireland and take a shot Sean pulls of another good save. Steven pushes forward and the ball lands just wide for him to reach. Mark and Stephen on the break and Mark gets the ball and he scores. 2-0 to the Irish. With time running out Mark throws forward but the ball falls for Stephen with an open goal but before he can shoot the time runs out. 2-0 at half time.

In the second half Taiwan get the ball at the sprint. Taiwan play the ball around the goal and eventually has a shot but miss. Mark gets the ball and has shot but again the ball goes wide.Taiwan get ball rush forward to Irish line and score 2-2. Jack gets the ball, races forward and shoots, ball is saved. Sean saves the ball. Long save by Stephen and save by the Taiwanese. Pierce loses ball, Taiwanese get it and fire in a long past, ball goes out of play. Shot by Ciaran and the ball is saved for a corner. Mark gets the ball and shoots wide. Long shot with the ball and the ball shoots wide. Long shot wide again. The Taiwanese have a shot and Jack saves. Taiwan Score. Ciaran gets a yellow card. Final score 3-2.

Ireland on attack and Michele shoots but this saved by New Zealand. New Zealand get the ball in the zone shoot and score. 5 minutes into the game and No8 for New Zealand scores. Aideen gets the ball and shoots at the net but misses. The Kiwi's take a shot but Mary pulls of the saves pushing the ball out for a corner. No 3 for New Zealand has a shot and the ball is received by Aideen on the rebound. The Kiwi fights for it and a referees ball is given. No. 4 rolls on the ball and picks it up. No 10 gets the ball and scores 3-0 to New Zealand. Ireland has the ball and the ball falls for Coaimhe but she is marked out with no-one to throw to. Michele gets the ball and pulls of a nice goal. Ball falls for Michele again but half time buzzer is blown and the half timescore is 3-1 to New Zealand.

Maire gets the ball and whilst going for it the Kiwi sprinter goes up on the boat and Ireland are given a foul. Ireland takes a shot on goal. New Zealand paddler goes for the goal and as she is about to shoot Coaimhe gets her paddle in front of the goal and a penalty is given. 4-1 to New Zealand. Aideen attacks a Kiwi player who has the ball and the Kiwi pushes Aideen, free to Ireland. The Kiwis get the ball and sprint forward to score another goal. Trish takes a long shot and shoots but again ball goes wide. Aideen shoots but the ball partly gos in but falls out, no score. Michele robs the ball form the KIWI and passes to Aisling, Aisling shoots and scores. 5-2. Mary knocks the ball behind for a corner on the restart. Australia has another shot and this time Maire knocks it wide for a corner. Michele has the ball but has to pass it back to Aideen as there are two many paddles in front of her. There are three Kiwi's on attack with two of the Irish. No8 for NZ get the ball and score. Sinead gets the ball and sshoots but ball goes wide. New zealand get the ball and shoot, score. Coaimhe responds with a goal of her own. Thi si the final score 7-3 to New Zealand.

Ireland move forward with the ball and play the ball around the GB goal. Again they lose the ball but Cairan soon wins it back. Pierce scores a goal, 7 and a half minutes into game. GB have the ball and No4 for GB has another shot and again Sean pulls of a good save. No8 has a shot but the ball goes wide. No 6 gets into the zone, shoots, the ball hits Sean's paddles and falls into goal. 1:1. Steve gets the ball and shoots ball back and he passes the ball to Mark Mc Cormack but time runs out and half time score 1:1.

GB win the ball at the restart. GB shoot at goal and Sean pulls of another save. Ciaran shoots the ball but the ball is saved by NO4 in goals. Mark shoots at goal and a free is given. Mark gets the ball passes it to Ciaran and he scores. 5 minutes gone in the second half. GB shoots and the ball goes wide. Ireland go forward Mark gets the ball and passes to Ciaran and he scores a goal. Sean saves the ball again. Penalty given to GB during a timeout they score. Final score 3-2 to Ireland. Much to the delight of the Irish spectators and the U21 team.

Mary saves the ball. No3 shoots but misses. Halftime score 1:1. GB win the ball and go on the attack. Shoots the ball and the ball went wide. Aideen saves the ball and knocks it down but GB score on the rebound. Coaimhe gets the ball and shoots, ball bounces of post. GB get the ball. GB shoots and Coaimhe knocks the ball clear. No4 wins the ball under Irelands goal and Mary saves. No4 again gets the ball under the goal for Maire to save again. NO4 wins the ball again, 1 flick, 2 flick, 3 flick, goal. Aideen gets the ball and scores for Ireland Score 2-2. Ginny for GB gets the ball and scores straight away. Trish shoots the ball and the ball is saved. Aisling shoots and the ball is saved. No 5 shoots the ball and the ball over the bar. No3 shoots and the ball is saved. Final Score 3-2 to GB. Good fight by Ireland.

At the start John wins the ball and passes it back. Fabio gets the ball and shoot, ball is saved. John suddenly notices that his deck has popped, he moves to the side and fixes it, gets back unto the pitch gets the ball and score. First blood to the Irish. At the restart No 10 for Finland takes the ball and ball goes wide. No 10 has the ball, works his way through the zone and scores. 1:1. Master G passes the ball to Ciaran to Fabio. Finland knocks the ball down from a pass but G soon retrieves it. Finlands No 3 gets the ball and shoots but Ciaran Dolan saves. No 10 shoots again and the ball goes wide. Finland awarded a penalty and No 10 comes int o score. Irelands ball, Ciaran passes to G, G shoots ball saved, Stretch passes to G, Another save. A paddle tackle on John and Ireland get a penalty. Vinny shoots and score to make the game 2-2. Ball is passed to John he sprints with the ball, shoots and scores. Ireland agai get the ball, John sprints forward, ball lands for him he picks it up, shoots, and the ball floats into the goal. 4-2 to Ireland. No9 shoots and ball is saved. G and John are on the sprint, G gets it passes to Conor and Conor scores to an eruption from the Irish benches. Ball flows forward, Stretch passes to Ciaran and then to Stretch. Stretch plants it in the back of the net. Conor gets ball and shots but ball hits the bar. Half time score 6-2 to Ireland.

John wins ball on the restart with the Finnish player crunching his boat. Fabio on the charge for the ball but he gets pinned against the poolside. No 4 gets the ball and shoots, Ciaran saves. Vinny gets a green card for not letting the player take the shot. G catches the ball shots but No 10 saves the ball. Gerry gets the ball on the rebound shoots to Fabio and Fabio scores. No 1 Shoots the ball and Stretch brings the ball down. He throws the ball but the ball is saved. Gerry then gets the ball on a sprint, shoots but the ball is too low and falls behind the goal. Stretch gets a green card. No 10 has a long shot and scores making the final score 7:3.

The game is now 5 Minutes into the play and Ireland get the ball and get one goal back. Aisling gets forward, ball falls for her, she aims, she scores. 2-2. No5 for Italy shoots the ball and the ball goes wide. Michele repays the favour on the other side and shoots the ball over. Trish steals the ball but she misfires. Michele knocks down the ball. Aideen shoots but misses, Aisling hits the side bar with the rebound. Half time score 2-2

Caoimhe shoots and hits the sidebar. Italy get the ball and scores. Italy again score in the fourth minute and score. 4-2. No8 breaks with no Irish in defense but she hits the post. Aideen passes to Sinead but balls bounces wrong. Trish passes the ball to Sinead and the ball shoots wide. Trish shoots again but the ball goes wide. Final score 4-2 to Italy. Ireland Women are 8th in the league.

Mark is given the ball on the restart and shoots but ball goes wide. Ciaran gets the ball and scores 1:1. No 4 for Taiwan get the ball and Sean saves the ball. Taiwan badly pass the ball back allowing Mark in and he scores. No 2 for Taiwan then has a shot and again Sean saves. No 8 for Taiwan shots and scores making it 2-2 at halftime.

Taiwan win the ball at the restart. NO 2 shoots and ball falls of Seans paddle and falls into the goal 3-2 to Taiwan. Pierce is pushed unto a boat, but the call is given for a referees ball. Ireland win the ball and it is given to Mark who scores. The game is now minutes into the second half. 3-3. Mark gets spoken to and Taiwan has a shot. Ireland give away obstruction and Taiwan gets a goal disallowed. Ireland move up to the Taiwanese half and a penalty is awarded. Ciaran scores making the score 4-3. Taiwan win a penalty in the other half and they score making the score 4-4 taking the game into extra time.

Extra time is played for three minutes each half with a golden goal deciding the winner and if no decision at that stage penalties.

No 8 for Taiwan wins the sprint and shoots but ball goes over. Makr gets a free and shoots, he scores. Ireland win the game on the golden goal.
