Can some one please explain to me how canoepolo in the UK works? Is it regional or Uni based or a free for all weekend style?

Thanks:)

It is rather complicated - there are anything around 500 teams !!!

There is a very established National League system which is split into divisions, some of which (all below div 2) are regionallised.

Below this there are independant (but still under the BCU) regional leagues some of which have up to 2 divisions in each class.

As well as this there are regional and semi-national events for schools/youthgroups and Universities,

We also have a National Champs which is a long weekend comp where in theory any team who enters can win the title of British National Champions. Usually (always actually) one of our div 1 teams win.

Hope this helps a bit.

Get hold of one of our year books to see more info and contact stuff.
I can post you one if you send me a chequee payable to the BCU Canoe Polo Committee for £3. and send me you postal address.

There are also competitions held in Scotland, not as complicated as English ones are made out.
We don't have very many teams competing in Scotland for now but I'm working on that.

There is a uni competition in Scotland
