Hi,

Well I have finally lived up to my threats and officially dropped out of graduate school. I am thinking of either relocating to Seattle or maybe Vancouver. I wanted to go to a place where there is still an active polo club. I was wondering where in BC I could find a game. All this is still quite tentative since I don't know what it would entail to get a work visa in Canada, but if that is relatively easy to do, I think I would quite like to try BC out for a change. ANy suggestion on anything I have written above?

Cheers,

Hey Chiang,

Definitely come to Vancouver !!

The Vancouver Canoe Polo Club is currently active, and you are more than welcome to come and play. The club currently meets Monday nights at around 6:30 pm at Deep Cove.
In September we will be switching to play indoors at Simon Fraser University Pool on Sundays..

Seattle also has some clubs, including some guys at U of W, and also Gig Harbour.

Cheers,

Ben Wickland

So I definitely want to come to Vancouver, but I cannot get a work permit to do so. Anyone there want to sponsor me? I have a pure mathematics degree from MIT and almost a PhD from UC Berkeley  In the meantime, I am moving to Seattle. I have a quick question for the Vancouver people...do you have some contact info for the folks at Gig Harbour? I went to their website and submitted an email but got no replies. Also how far is the drive between Seattle and Vancouver...if y'all practiced on Saturdays, I would be willing to drive weekly for the games if it is not to far.

This is a question that is kinda on a different scale...are there any pretty places to road cycle and mountain bike up in Vancouver?
