For sale: Felix Volta 301 in good condition.

This boat has been completely overhauled & repaired. A new cockpit/seat has been installed and the seams have been fixed/renewed.

Very good beginner/low budget boat (this design is a lot better than the later Felix models, imo. At least it is faster and more manouvrable and stable).

Price: 100 Euro including neoprene skirt (old one, suitable for thin/small people, although the boat can be used by grown-ups too :-)

For those who do not know how the 301 looks like: its upperdeck is similar to the Matador (scooped nose), but is a straight boat instead of the more slalom oriented shape of the Matador.

Can be delivered to Dutch tournaments to come.

Cheers,

Michiel

What is it for a boat, never heard of it?

Rene, the tall one from Rijnland, used to have his own company building polo boats. That was called Felix. They build a number of very good designs and some lesser succesful ones. The Volta 301 was built in the early '90-ies. It was actually a very good model but the combination of very nice English models (Revenge) and couple of lousy designs from Felix drove the customers away.

It's a shame because if Rene would still be building the 300 and 301 models he'd be having lots of Dutch players still paddling his very good boats.

I'll try to get some good pictures and see if I can post them. Is there a history/archeology section? ;-)

Michiel

PS Henk: these boats still exist but I think the original mould was ruined or something because Rene can't build these anymore afaik. Dang!

I understand Michiel wants to sell his boat...
But he is acting like he has something like a bulletproof Nitro from the early 90's made in Holland...

It's heavier and not fast enough...
And I'm pretty sure that if they where still build, no div 1 player in Holland would buy one....

But anyway, it's still a pretty nice deal.. the boat is slightly cheaper than the topmodels nowadays.. :-)

I really resent this remark as I clearly state in my original post that this is a good beginner/low budget boat . I also never mentioned div 1 or what so ever. (see below)

As can be concluded from the fact that I had to perform extensive repairs that this boat is not "bullet proof". No boat is. In my opinion it is one of the best designs Felix put out, but 10 years of development in the game also meant 10 years of development in gear. People don't use Schlegels anymore either (well, hardly..)

Michiel

Ok.. I read the posts again.. and I was a little exaggerating...

But you wrote:

And I think he wouldn't sell a single new boat if he sticked to those models....

But anyway...

Oops... bleu on bleu isn't that good of a combination...
let's try again..

It's a shame because if Rene would still be building the 300 and 301 models he'd be having lots of Dutch players still paddling his very good boats

This is better...

Well, one part of the discussion is over: the boat has been sold yesterday to a youth player who seems to be very happy with it.

Martijn is probably right assuming div 1 players would not paddle the Volta 300/301 series very much but lots of lower division players have no need for a top-of-the-bill model. They need a decent, affordable, sturdy boat that will last for a while.

BTW: Martijn, are you sure you didn't confuse the Volta 397 with the boats I am referring to? Because with the 397 you are absolutely right: that boat is horrible!

The Felix boats are perfect!:thumbup:

here are all the advantages:

:thumbup: - They are cheap;

:thumbup: - easy to find;

:thumbup: - you can learn repairing boats ;

:thumbup: - you can weight-lift with them;

:thumbup: - you will learn swimming quite fast; (if i see people swimming in a game it often is a player with a felix boat)

:thumbup: - You can suprise the opponent. He thinks you're just started canoepolo, but maybe it isn't.

:thumbup: - If you don't know on wich field you' re division plays. Look at other Felix boats and you know where you have to be.

:thumbup: - When you're buying a new type of boat, the Psychological effect is much bigger. because you entering a new world of canoepolo.

:thumbup: - Also the physical effect is bigger, because you played for years in a felix boat and had to paddle hard for a little movement. Know in your new boat you are used to paddle hard and know you're get a big movement.

All the peoplo who after reading this want to buy a felix boat.

I still have one (original model), you just have to name a price.

It starts above 300 euro.

Probably the response would be enormous. So maybe i can not give everybody respons. It try at least!

Hi Scroll,

Like I said before:
Well, one part of the discussion is over: the boat has been sold yesterday ...

At the moment lots of new junior teams start up in Holland so anything that is halfway decent (floating, preferably for at least 10 minutes ;-) ) will be sold in a jiffy.

Are you looking for a poloboat? What sort of boat are you looking for? Price range etc?
