Well I've been watching in the News and on the Sports shows, but (as opposed to the proliferation of commentary on the AB's trouncing of the English!) I'm yet to hear anything about the Vikings 'upset' win over Justice.

So.... Comments anyone? spectators, players, fans, supporters from afar?

What is your perspective on why the result in the Final (Vikings 3-2) was so different to the previous two match-ups (Justice 8-3 & 9-2)?

Let's hear your views on the game.

Thanks
Troy

I think the result shows the benefit of a 3 match national league type format where a team can change it's tactics based on what happened in previous games. From my perspective the Vikings did well to identify where their game plan had weaknesess and corrected them.

Game one they tried to press and Justice showed them up on it. Justice simply had too much skill and composure to be beaten by the press.

Game two Vikings gave up on the press but lacked the composure under pressure that Justice had shown when Justice pressed them. They also seemed to have no answer to the offence that Justice used which seemed to be quite simple and aimed at using the space to create the extra player in front of goal.

Game three the Vikings again gave up on the press and instead went back and defended like hell! They showed far more composure under pressure when pressed and didn't turn the ball over as much. They didn't show much more on attack but the defence was outstanding.

I think that if the game was played again Justice would win 2 out of every 3 times but Vikings just happened to put it all together when it counted.

Congatulations Vikings

Firstly Troy ......i see you are Prodding and trying to stir a bit.

Let's see: from the inside of the Vikings camp:

up until that final we were a bit complacent in our level of play......really going throughth motions
We did have a few internal problems that needed to be dealt with.....that we could have done with out in a normally tight team!
In the final, we brought heart! While that sounds easy to roll off the tongue......the reality is that it took all the tournament to find it again. The Vikings are a team that normally plays for each other.....to show off for each other, to fight for each other. If you look at any of our other games we played and compare it to the final......the main difference you will notice is how Vocal and supportive we are in that final. No-body seem to do wrong in his team-mates eyes.......a miss at goal was quickly followed by shouts of "better luck next time" or "right option, have another go".
We wanted to play at our best and put on a good show after getting our ass whopped TWICE! We wanted some respect.
Defense: it wins championships......some thing we learnt well on our trip to Aussie
Experience......starting to get a bit more within the team.
Justice:
Well I am sure they they will feel hard done by, they certainly had their chances.........perhaps they could have changed their offense when it was so close, some thing with more penertration???

Just a personal opinion.......but i will say that the final looks as good on video as it felt to play!!

Y

Yeah must say I defenitaly thought justice were a bit hard done by and if the game was played again I would put the money on them to win.
I think on the day it looked as thou everything just seemed to go the way of the vikings and justice was unlucky many times not to score.
And although vikings only managed to score 3 times there solid defnce with a bit of luck managed to hold up and win the game for them although there were some very tense last minutes as justices shots were being fired into the magnet on daves paddle
