My name is Jonas Jacobsen. This summer I'm going to Australia as an exchange student for a year. I'm going to live in St Helens Park about 50 km SW of Sydney. The postcode is 2560. Does anyone of you know if there is a canoepoloclub there or nearby? :confused: I hope you do. :thumbup: :wavey:

I just found out that St Helens Park is a part of the town Campbelltown about 50 km SW from Sydney. Does anyone of you know if there is a club ther, or a place where I can find out before going down under?

Hi Jonas,
It will be great to see you in Sydney, we are always keen to have new people to train with and play against. The best place for information on the Sydney league and clubs is to go to http://www.nswcanoe.org.au/polo/ , this is a new website but is always kept upto date.

St Helen's park is on the outskirts of Sydney but we have pretty good public transport and i am sure you will meet some great Sydney polo people who will be happy to help you out with lifts and gear.

Hi Jonas

Try Parramatta Canoe Club (jonsam@bigpond.com.au) which is approx 1 hr drive from St Helens Park or
Birrong Swimming Pool (approx 30mins-1hr)A grade play on Tuesday nights.
B grade play on Wednesday nights. Games generally start at 7:15 PM.
Each game has 2, 9 minute, halves. Usually finish around 9:45 PM , Send blank email to OzCanoePolo-Sydney-subscribe@yahoogroups.com to subscribe to mailing list.
Also, canoepolo may be considered a "hazardous/perilous activity" by some exchange student programs. You may already know this, but you will have to get a "release" which is subject to the approval of your biological family, host family & exchange program. Check with your co-ordinator.
