Hi All,

We are organising a polo competition as part of the Celtic Watersports
Festival.
The competition will run at the Ballyshannon lakeside centre on Friday 9th
August starting at 9.00am (approx) and will finish either late on the Friday
evening or on Saturday morning

Please refer to the following links for information about the Celtic
watersports
games.

http://www.celticwatergames.com/

It is expected that the event will attract approx. 1000 visitors from the
Celtic
regions of Atlantic Europe: Brittany, Asturias, Gallicia, North Portugal,
Cornwall, Wales, Isle of Man, Scotland and of course Ireland. Apparently the
games will be opened by Bertie Ahern on the Monday morning and therefore
will
probably attract TV coverage etc. They will also include sea kayaking.
marathon,
sprint racing and kayak surfing.
A rough agenda for the paddle disciplines is as follows
Tuesday 6th Aug - Marathon / k1 / k2 sprint
Wednesday 7th Aug / Thursday 9th - Sea kayaking / Surf kayak / waveski
Friday 9th Aug - POLO
Any Irish polo team that gets placed (including club sides) will contribute
points towards Ireland's overall total. We are planning to run the event
spit
into 3 divisions - Male, Female and Juniors (under 18). - This is because
the
overall event is split this way and we will need to be able to allocate
points
accordingly.

We will also be limited in the number of teams so if you are interested get
your entry form in ASAP ( however please only send a form if you are
definite).
There is no entry fee for the event.

Any queries drop me a line

Regards

Ronan Boyle
