My friend and I will go to USA this summer (1-15 Augoust). We'll want see Yellowstone Park, Yosemite Park, S. Francisco, L.A., Las Vegas, the Grand canyon... We ask you if somebody can tell us the posibilities to make wild waters/Raffting in the Grand Canyon, and how we can Know this.
Hello Reaply,
A permit is required to paddle in the Grand Canyon. The waiting list for these permits is a few years long. It is possible to take trips with commercial rafting companies, but places on these trips are in big demand, and expensive! I think that most rafting companies offer trips that are between 10 days and 20 days, but one day trips are possible (for about $600 per person).
Check out the following link for more information on visitng the Grand Canyon :

There are also some GREAT whitewater rivers near other places that you'll visit. For example, near Yosemite there are the Merced(Class IV~V), The Tuolumne(Class IV~V), Cherry Creek(Class V+), South Fork American(Class III+), Middle Fork American(Class III~IV), North Fork American(Class IV~V). See the following websites for some more info on these :

Good Luck!
