Hi!


We in Flensburg want to buy new helmets.
Which helmets are good and not so expensive? :confused:

I hope you understand my and answer me!!!

Basically this depends on what your country's specific rules say. In the UK the BCU rules state that a helmet should be CE approved which usually means most cheaper helmets cannot be used. In most other countries the rules do not require a specific CE approval, thus allowing the cheaper ACE helmets as well. As long as they are safe (to b decided upon by the referee/tournament organisation).

A cheap and good solution are so called "roller blade helmets". They can be bought in most (discount) sports equipment shops for anywhere between 10 and 25 euro's. They usually come in black but sometimes you can get other colours as well, otherwise, get out the coloured tape :).

At least in Holland I know several teams that use those helmets (they are even CE aproved :-P) and they seem to be fine.

... but I think thet those helmets are CE aproved for some another sport than canoeing... :o :stupid:
