I think the problem is that the event is the same weekend as the tournament in Essen. Im sure theres lots of players (myself included) who would like to come but have committed to going to Essen.
Great event, bad timing!!!

The event is entering its final stages of organisation and we still have a few places left if anyone has not signed up yet and is intending to come please do as soon as you can as the play list is being filledpretty quick now. e have over 100 prizes on offer plus a host of other side attraction and demo fleets, the party has a fully licienced bar and catering, a disco with proffesional light show as well as the obligatory drinking games.
We have been asked If we would like to make this an annual/biannual event, that all depends on your support and how much money we can raise for the three cancer charities. So even if you are not able to make it you can make a secured donation on line through our website www.cancerchallenge.org.uk (http://www.cancerchallenge.org.uk) . Please show your interest and participate in or make a donation to this event and maybe, just maybe I can be persuaded to do it again.
Thanks to everyone involved and look forward to seeing you all there.
Dave.
I'd like to play, but as it is right in the middle of my exam period its a bit hard to get there. If the event is repeated that would be great, and maybe moving the date away from exam periods, less reason for students to miss out, though not much change as close to BUSA would give some bit of continuity - make people feel more like giving polo a proper go. Maybe could even go for longer if participation allows? I just reckon theres many students who may not have much else to do after exams who would be more than happy to play, party and support a very good cause. (of course when I'm no longer a student, the world won't revolve around them!)

Hi,
I do have to agree with Ali, in that I'd love to be there but it is slap bang in the middle of my exams and I really can spare the time as much as I'd love to.
I think it would be great to see the event happen again bi-annualy at least and it would be even better if it was either brought forward or later so it missed the all important exam time and the internationals. As annoying as it is to have to arrange stuff around student time tables with the amount of students playing polo at BUSA if all of them were to attend then you could probably push on towards the 48 hour mark! And Im sure all the students would love to come as it would be like a second BUSA!
Best of luck with it anyway this year guys, I hope all goes well and if you decide to do it again get in touch and we can try and sort someway of helping you out a bit more from the student end of polo.
Chris
P.S. Our boats will be there somehow I'll make sure of that

Thanks for the feedback guys - it's always good to get.
The student exam period and international obligations were just things we could not avoid. It's not just limey students (I am one) and super-star paddle gods that we have to concider, but the whole picture.
Ideally we'd love to run a Cancer Challenge event of some sort every year, but this can range from polo, through the canoeing-world spectrum and into other sports of marginal interest but high participation (essentially what polo is). With the canoe polo event... I'd love to see it become part of the fixtures calendar, but in future perhaps JUST a charity tournament... with a twist, naturally ;)
Again, thatnks to everyone who does sign-up, donate, come along just for the party or even just tells all their mates so that THEY come to CANCER CHALLENGE (http://www.cancerchallenge.org.uk)
Regards
Matt

It's great to get all the feed back and ideas, people are trying to persuade me to do it again, but as I'm syre BUSA organiser know all to well its a massive undertaking, we also must thank all our sponsors who have helped us to organise this especially Hatfield Water park and Desperate Measures. It takes a lot of time and effort to get these events going as well as a fairly large injection of cash, but the ground work is in place and I'm not ruling it out, so come and see me at the event and try to pursuade me, I find large cash donations work best.
See you all on the water soon, one way or another,
Dave, ( a very tired Man)
