Sorry boys, but no chance. We had running turns from Luleå to Tampere. Each of us run 130 km, so there is no questions, which team is going to win Mansepoolo. Our physic is something you can only dream about! =))))

Tervehdys!
Sebastianin postissa on virallinen kutsu englanniksi. Tässä epävirallinen suomeksi.
Perjantaina 9. huhtikuuta 2004 pelataan 22. Mansepoolo Tampereen uintikeskuksessa.
Turnauksessa pelataan aloittelijoiden sarja sekä miesten sarja. Aloittelijoiden sarjaan ovat sukupuoleen ja ikään katsomatta kaikki joukkueet tervetulleita.
Joukkueiden maksimilukumäärä turnauksessa on 14. Nopeat syövät hitaat!
Osallistumismaksu on 60 euroa / joukkue.
Turnauksessa pelataan yhteensä noin neljäkymmentä peliä. Kussakin pelissä pelataan kaksi kahdeksan minuuttista erää. Ottelut pelataan isolla (33m pituus 17m leveys) kentällä.
Ilmoittautumiset osoitteeseen Sebastiaan_Luyssaert@yahoo.com tai aarne.tollinen@mbnet.fi helmikuun 26. päivään mennessä.
Turnauksen järjestävät tuttuun tapaan Tampereen Kajak ja Kangasalan Melojat yhdessä.
Tervetuloa Tampereelle!

:silly:
:welcome:
Molemmat sarjat ilmeisesti avoimia kaikille kunhan joukkueitten taso vaan pysyy toivottuna? Vai ymmärsinkö ihan väärin sen lontoon murteen? :stupid:
The Fly

:welcome:

No panic!
The idea is to avoid games with a result of say 7-0, 9-1, 17-0, etc... It is no fun to win or to loose such a game. Why should we play when it is no fun? Therefore, we aim to make groups which are more similar in level. As the best teams in Finland and Sweden have a level similar to the level of the second class teams on large international tournaments, that is the level we target in the group with the highest level. Because we know that there are also other teams in Finland and Sweden we will organise a second group which targets the level of those teams. So all teams in this region will be able to play.
As a result every game should be tight and it is possible to offer a nice tournament to those teams which are willing to travel from far away i.e. North Sweden, North Finland, Norway, Denmark and who knows The Netherlands, Belgium and/or UK.
When there is time, we will organise finals. However, our first concern is to offer 5 games to all participating teams.
Sebastiaan
Merimelojilta tulee turnaukseen vain yksi joukkue.
Kilpailu kutsu ei ilmeisesti ole mennyt levitykseen muuten kuin Foorumin kautta ja siten tietoa ei ole kaikilla seuroilla??

Hi there,
I am trying to sort out a way to come and play in Tampere with the StiL Womens Team.
Unfortunately, it is not that easy since I'm leaving from Amsterdam and then plan to take a ferry across to Stockholm.
If I manage to sort everything out I will arrive in Helsinki on Thursday afternoon/evening. Probably without a boat.
So, is there by any chance room for an extra player in a vehicle from Helsinki to Tampere? A assume you'll all leave on Friday morning right?
Hope to see you all at Easter.
Regards,
Caroline

It really makes an impression to me, how much you are ready make an effort. I hope that there will be place for your in the car of Merimelojat.
But, if there isn`t, and you still want to come to Mansepoolo, there comes trains from Helsinki to Tampere.
9.4 05:30 Helsinki - 06:57 Tampere Pendolino 47 price:24.30 €
9.4 07:04 Helsinki - 08:52 Tampere InterCity 49 price: 24,40 €
I or someone else KaMe could ofcourse pick up you from the Tampere railway station.

The trains seem to be a good option, thanks. Also noticed that the trains run quite ok to Turku so I can catch the ferry there.
Will let you know when I've sorted everything out and know if I'm coming for sure or not.
Have fun,

Check the following sites out:
www.vikingline.se
www.siljaline.se
www.finnlink.se
Finnlink normally has the lowest fares but are not as flash as the other two. Also, Finnlink only allows passengers who are bringing a vehicle, but I guess you will qualify for that...
The Finnlink ferries go to Naantali (Nådendahl in Swedish) which is really close to Turku (Åbo), which Silja and Viking go to.
I would recommend to choose Naantali or Turku instead of Helsinki since it will be lots faster.
Finnlink departs from Kapellskär, which is about 50km north of Stockholm and I think it would be a faster drive to Kapellskär than to Stockholm, quite ok roads north of Stockholm over Arlanda-Märsta etc.
Hope that helps,
// Caroline

Hi richk!
Thanks for the answer, Caroline.
From Turku it is 157km to Tampere and from Helsinki it`s 177km. After all it takes pretty same time, because the road is bigger and faster from Helsinki to Tampere.
If I remember right, the ferries are usually cheaper from Stockholm to Turku than from Stockholm to Helsinki...And like Caroline wrote, it should be also faster.

Rich,
The company which offers the cheapest crossings between Sweden and Finland is Seawind. Have a look at www.seawind.fi (http://www.seawind.fi)

Maybe you could fly with Ryan air from stockholm to Tampere. It was pretty cheap before but maybe they have closed that line. I think you could travel there for about 40 euros. But this would also be a problem with your boats.

Sorry, but Ryanair hasn`t anymore connection between Stockholm-Tampere.

Hi again,
Now I'm back to my previous question again:
Has any of the Helsinki teams, going to Tampere for Manse Poolo, a seat left for another player on the Friday morning?
The trains do run so it is not a crisis, but if any of you have an extra seat I would really appreciate to go by car instead :)
I arrive at 22.30 approx on Thursday night, why I won't be able to catch a traing straight to Tampere unfortunately.
See you next week,

In attachment the results of 22nd Manse Poolo.
In group A the tournament was exciting. There was not much logic in the game results and teams which got badly beaten in the first round were able to take revenge in the finals. Although Köpingen ended last, they were able give some of the teams a hard time. The Friends of Sebi showed to be better friends than players. Too many draws kept them out of the finals. After the semi-final, Merimoljat ranked 4th and KaMe 3rd. The Final game between Stil/KGP and Kajak1 was sometimes a bit boring to watch, however, it was played with discipline. Both teams showed they master the defence. As a result all scores were made in fast breaks. Kajak 1 won the final with 2-1.
Teams in group B clearly had a different level. Group B was dominated by Kajak 2 which didn't lose a single game and even won the cross over from Köpingen in group A. MeVa played very consistent end ended 2nd followed by Kankaanpää. Kangasala2 had difficulties to compete but given the total age and body mass of the team this should not suprise. After a strong start one of the players of the Swedish Women got injured, the team ranked 4 th.
The organisers voted Evelien from Friends of Sebi the Fin as Ms Manse poolo 2004 for her role as the only female player in group A. Richard from Norway who played for Kankaanpää was voted Mr Manse poolo 2004 for his enthusiasm to travel from Norway to Finland, without a team, for this Tournament. Ms and Mr Manse poolo 2004 received 200g of Juhla Mämmiä. One box was already consumed the same evening. The second box was confiscated by the Belgian custom and send to a highly secured chemical laboratory for further investigation.
