hi,
im steph, i play polo for tx tornadoes, boston, and currently U21 women. i suppose a few of you know who i am. anywho, us U21 gals are franctically trying to pull together all the talent we can from other under 21 women in the united states for a shot at our first showing at worlds. we only know of the few gals that were at LA this past october plus one or two others here and there. it is looking bleak for our team and i wanted to put this out to all the clubs in the US: if you have U21 women currently playing, please inform them of the greatness that is the world championships in japan this year and that we really really need as much interest as possible. please, anyone who reads this, respond and tell me about any other players you might know of. if they have questions or concerns, i as well as our coach mark poindexter would be glad to answer them. i hope this search is not in vain.
thanks -stephanie schnorr #7

Hmmm, I tried to post this yesterday, but I see it didn't show up. Maybe I got censored for a bad idea... it's just a thought though.
(appologies if it shows up somewhere else by mistake)
If it looks like the US U21 women will have insufficient members for a team, and thus are completely unable to go to worlds, would it be possible to pick up a couple of Canadian girls for a combined N. American team?
You'd have to get special permission from the organizers, and would likely be ghosted out of the final results, as an unofficial team, but it might be worthwhile if it was the difference between going and not going, and would provide international experience for those U21 women eager to play.
Just a thought, for what it's worth (about :twocents: CND)

yes, hannah told me she was interested and im totally fine with that but it's not completely up to me heh. someday maybe, but not yet. uh, anyways, hold that thought and we'll see how far it goes with some of the more official people in charge of us.

If you cannot garner a quorum for an U21 women's team for world's, is it not possible for the U21's to try out for the regular women's team? I don't know the official rules for the world's, but it seems to me that if y'all have been working hard and training, the coach for the women's team should have no qualms to letting some younger women try out for the team. I should reiterate that I have no idea how things are run, but it cannot hurt to ask and the best part is that you may be able to get onto the squad and go to world's.
Cheers,

yes, ah, the womens team, as lofty of a supposition as that is, i grudgingly must refrain and owe my dedication to the U21 while i still am indeed U21.

Joe, I always knew there was something wrong with you...and now your wish to be female has proven my theories correct.
You are a strange duck. Have fun with the Aussies. *glare.
We would be happy to have "Joesaphine" on our team!

Yes, it is possible to go with the sr. woman. It just requires a bit more money because the training camps are more frequent and everyone is so spaced out. Plus, there are some really talented woman playing in the US and it is hard to fight for a spot! ;) But some of us ARE trying. For many of the U21's, it isn't really a logical solution. Maybe in a couple of years...
