I am working in America in Fairfax Virginia near Washington DC and would like to know if there is a club near by.

I believe the closer club to Washington is the New England club. Dave Wright I think is president of the club. There's also I club in Texas but that's quite a ways away from D.C..

Does anyone have any idea whether polo is played in (North) Georgia??
I am stuck in Athens for the next year and may have to resign myself to paddling rivers only...

Bas,
This is true now but give us some time. We may surprise you. The U.S. was once considered an international joke in soccer. That certainly is now longer true.
What do you mean was considered a joke ?

i remember a post somewhere in the usa forum about a kayak club wanting to start polo in florida...south florida i think. anyhow, my folks live in south florida (pembroke pines) and i occasionally bring my gear home when i visit if i fly the right airlines. i will be home this summer for a couple of weeks and if i bring some gear...i will try and get in touch with you and the other kayak clubs. otherwise, i live in the UK...if you ever get to europe, there is a much greater chance of finding a club that you can actually train with unlike the states where the clubs are so spread out.
